The Worst Film Ever

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

I absolutely love this movie. I enjoyed and was pleasantly surprised of the twists and turns. There are quite a few surprises with unexpected many highs and lows which keep on the edge of your seats. Just when you thought you knew who the bad guys are ... you are indubitably brought into another realm of reality which further tests your abilities of predictable accuracy in anticipating the next set of outcomes. The movie moves at a nice pace. Beau Bridges and Aidan Quinn also brought some unexpected results in the direction where this movie was headed at times. Again, who is the good guy and who is the bad guys. The 2 main lead stars are a bit unknown and they gave a good rendition of seasoned veteran stars. I had heard nothing about Rushlights before I saw it, and sometimes that's a treat. And so it was, this time! It's an exciting and entertaining flick just for entertainment. It succeeds in entertaining me. A touch of Coen-brothers, a touch of Twin Peaks and a bit of films like "Shallow grave", "head above water", "True romance" or "U Turn".A young couple meet each other as waitress and customer in a bar. A week later they are a couple, and a tragedy struck. By coincidence they get a following idea, and goes to the small town of Tremo in Texas, which keeps the suspense high for the rest if the movie.Both main actors, Haley Webb and Josh Henderson are really good in their roles as the cute young couple, and their job are weighed well on great roles by Beau Bridges and Aidan Quinn. The rest of the cast is just as good. It reminds me of the best crime flicks I watched back in the eighties, as it's got some kind of retro feel.I love the pace, the filming, the twist and turns, the cars, all the bad people and the Texas heat. And when the actors are doing such a fine job as well, there's a lot to enjoy.This is writer and director Antoni Stutz's second feature film, and obviously a large step up from the first. Everything about the film I would say is well made, maybe except from a sound mixing that could have been better. It's also funny that everybody, even the owner, mistakes the stolen pick up truck for a El Camino, when clearly is a Ford Ranchero.

Mark Leeper from the ONLINE FILM CRITICS SOCIETY gives Rushlights a 6 out of 10, compares it to "early Cohen Brothers". While I agree with the Cohen Brothers likeness, my vote stands at a strong 8 out of 10. Rushlights is a solid, at times exceptional thriller. Director Antoni Stutz has a unique, talented eye - you can see right away that an artist is at work. In addition the acting is top-notch, however I think the script is a bit over the top. It'll be very interesting to see what project Stutz picks next, considering Rushlights is his first feature. Over the years, one sees a lot of first timers come and go - in this case, I'm certainly taking notice.Sofia Peterson

We found this movie entertaining from beginning to end with many sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat moments. Everyone in the cast is excellent. The young couple are believable - and likable. No matter what deceit the young couple were involved in, we felt sorry for them in their desperate situation and were rooting for them. This film has many twists in the plot which will keep you interested. Many films we rent have lengthy scenes that we feel need editing - however, this movie has excellent editing and is anything but boring! We highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a suspenseful story that keeps you guessing 'til the very end.
