if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

This biopic tells the story of the Minions on their journey to find their evil leader. You would definitely believe that this is a documentary if you didn't know otherwise, the acting is on par with films such as Citizen Kane and The Godfather. And the (true) story is also quite interesting, though it may be hard to follow if you are a non-intellectual. Overall this is one of the greatest films of all time and I would definitely suggest it to anybody who is able to follow the mature and complex story.

So I saw this film about a year ago and thought it would be fine but I was wrong. I don't think that this was good at all. Even though I don't like Despicable Me or Despicable Me 2, I had at least one laugh, but I was confused the whole film. It didn't make any sense and even though the spongebob movie doesn't make any sense it's so bad it's funny, but minions is just plain bad. It tries silent comedy like Shaun the Sheep movie, which you should definitely check out, but it has no good humour and uses obvious humour like fart poop jokes. To give the film credit, the England background was pretty good, but the bad outweighs the good by a long shot. I don't like the banana joke at all, it's so old now Illumination just stop it. The NY mall scene shouldn't have been included in this film, you could take it out and the loose plot would stay exactly the same. Minions are too simple of a design to look at. It literally looks like they settled with just a round rectangle and added goggles, eye(s), legs mouth and arms, that's it. When Scarlett becomes queen of England, people act like she's a dictator. You know the Prime minister exists so she can't just decide every law. Now I know that people would say this is unimportant, but you should add some realism a little bit in a film. When Kevin becomes giant I said what? Not only does this make zero sense but I was thinking why didn't they have this in the first act? The guard scene gives me a headache and the character designs make me ill. At the beginning, when Kevin doesn't want bob to come a minute bob feels nervous even though he wanted to come and Kevin encourages him to come. And somehow they go from the North Pole to NYC overnight. Spongebob movie is also makes no sense but it's suppose to make no sense, minions just falls off a 10000 metre cliff. Even though I'm no fan of Despicable Me, it's masterful compared to this garbage. See Early man, Shaun the Sheep, and other Aardman animation films that actually put effort into their films instead of illumination films that use celebrity actors and minions as bait to get money. Please don't see this, I'm going to see Minions 2 to see if it will be just as bad. Every credit I gave Minions which was small to begin with is gone. Again see Aardman Animation films that actually put effort into their films or even Pixar films.

What is this. When the top review right now on IMDb is a troll review giving it a 10/10 you know something is wrong. I get that this film is trying to appeal to kids below the age of 3 with the lack of dialogue and utter absurdity, but at least make it enjoyable to the general public as well. If you want to get an idea of much you might enjoy this film (out of 10), you can simply take the inverse of your age and multiply it by 10. For example, a 1 year old would rate this film a 10/10 and a 25 year old will enjoy this film 0.4/10.OK now onto the real review. I'll first preface this by saying I really liked the first Despicable Me, and I watch many animated comedies - I'm not some sad old man with no sense of humor. But the attempted comedy in this film is so dry and stupid that it's honestly hard to laugh. Perhaps you can laugh out of pity. At least the emoji movie is a film had expectations so low and responses so bad that we could laugh about it. All this film does is have minions laugh and "speak" (more like make random sounds) in an annoying voice. Honestly there's no way you wouldn't hate minions after watching this film. The jokes in this film are unoriginal and poorly integrated.Plot: There is no plot.Characters: Lol. (can you really call minions "characters" when they have no personality and all look the same?) Setting: OK I'll be honesty, the animation and setting is pretty well made, but there's no reason to watch it for that. It's literally just a high budget DreamWorks animation :/ My advice is don't even take your 1 year old kid to watch it cuz even they will cry at how horrible this film is.
