Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
Watching this makes me wonder who's the director, responsible for the sounds and misic, responsible for the camera shoot,. The movie effects thumbs up,! But the music, the camera shoots ohhh myy Great wall not really So great
The action never stops as Damon and friend, expert marksmen, visit China in the midst of an alien creature invasion. They have built the Great Wall against these creatures and they need it all for this most recent attack. Damon pitches in while wondering how he can get his hands on the legendary Chinese explosives. The action never lets up, and Jing and Damon make a very fascinating and attractive team. The end of this goes a little over the top, that's the only disappoint for me in an otherwise fine movie.
One of the characters in the movie says that the Tao Tei attack every sixty years "to keep greed in check," and that is precisely the message of the movie. The world's poor, most of them anyway, are tired of being poor, being represented by the Tao Tei themselves, and if not checked are threatening all-out war against the richest two percent of the population that are not sharing, hiding in seclusion, hoarding and loving their wealth, protecting themselves with a "great wall" that they hope nobody can penetrate. As the movie demonstrates, that line of thought has its weaknesses. A very good way to put off a moral to those who are, in fact, multi-billionaires while their next door neighbors are starving and without much else. Should they heed the warning to prevent all out world-wide civil war, or--should they continue to buy yachts, mansions and small countries with no thought to anybody else?
I can't believe people on this site are actually saying this movie was good. This has to be one of the 5 worst movies I have ever seen!!
