The Big Lebowski (1998)
Jeffrey 'The Dude' Lebowski, a Los Angeles slacker who only wants to bowl and drink White Russians, is mistaken for another Jeffrey Lebowski, a wheelchair-bound millionaire, and finds himself dragged into a strange series of events involving nihilists, adult film producers, ferrets, errant toes, and large sums of money.

one of my absolute favorites!
Just what I expected
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
I saw in the theater the 20 year anniversary showing of this cult classic. The dude is a still an interesting character as he deals with an array of individuals with competing interest. It is a funny and witty tale about finding your way and discovering how you fit in a complex situation. Long live the 'dude'.
You may think my 1 star review is unfair but seriously, I would give it minus stars if possible. I was really considering turning it off around an hour into it but I thought I'd watch the other half as it must get better with it having great reviews, NOPE! Nothing in this movie makes sense, you can't follow the plot and therefore not be able to relate or care for the characters. There is comedy in there but nothing I personally found funny (I watch a lot of comedies and have a huge sense of humour). And it was just a waste of my time, 2 hours long! Avoid if you hate terrible movies
This is the best movie of all time, and I knew this right after I watched it. It's just perfect. Everything in this movie is perfect, the characters are outright interesting from the Dude who manages to keep his head cool by adhering to a strict drug regimen, his buddies, the hot-headed but hilarious Walter and clueless Donny, the other characters, Maude, Bunny, Jackie Treehorn, Jesus Quintana are also very interesting and add their own flavor to the movie. The whole story is a sort of whodunit mystery which turns out to be a much ado about nothing, much like life itself - and it was this hard hitting conclusion which made me realize that this is perhaps the best movie ever made.
If The Big Lebowski is a comedy, then why did it fail to make me laugh out loud? Sure, I chuckled at one scene that I can recall, but on the whole, it didn't make me laugh and I didn't find it to be all that funny. While The Big Lebowski may be a big hit with some, it wasn't with me. Pass.
