Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.

This is second film series that I did a personal research on and there are many negative reviews. I don't understand why most film critics and movie reviewers don't like this film. It is understandable for the first two films as there are plenty of shortcomings but this film is certainly so much better than predecessors. Not to mention, this film series is also rightfully children films; you can't expect it not to be lovable and be more appealing to children. There are already thousands of films out there that are more appealing to adults more than children and while their opinions may not affect all the audience worldwide... Come on, don't be harsh! D;Anyway, kudos to Blue Sky Studios. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) is a delightful sequel and a very pleasant one. I love how the characters has been improved and developed since the last film and I liked this version of them, especially Manny and Ellie! There are also even more prehistoric baby animals in this film, I loved the baby mammoth and baby dinosaurs so much; they are so cute! How not to become a fan of Ice Age after watching this? T-T Okay, moving away from commenting based personal likings, this film has beautiful visuals and an interesting world inspired by prehistoric times. Each film they introduce more distinct characters and add more spice to it; the plot is simple but fun to watch. It is truly a great pleasure to watch them again many days ago just to write on this!On who will like this... If you liked their first and second film, you'll find yourself liking this film. Majority of people can never have enough of Scrat so people who loved him and prehistoric lovers will love this film too!If you have never watched the Ice Age films, I would recommend you to watch this first as the first two films may be dead boring for you mature movie lovers.

I didn't like this Ice Age installment all that much. There were not enough Dinosaurs, and to me that is awful! Why call it Ice Age dawn of the dinosaurs if there are only four or five throughout the whole movie? I thought it was a waste of my time, watching this movie. There wasn't enough laughs either. I thought it was boring. It didn't get good until the end of the film, when the little mammoth was born! I still haven't seen the fourth Ice Age, but I didn't like this one at all. I don't care for it either, and more than likely I will never re watch it either. The graphics and voice acting was good though. The third one seemed lost compared to Ice Ages one and two. I was so bored with this movie that I almost paused the movie and exed right out of the window on my computer. I just didn't like this movie.

I really loved Ice Age 3, I find dinosaurs very cool and that is was makes this a 4, then the movie grasps the concept of family, having one, losing one and sharing one, then making one that pushes it to a 7. The movie also felt more well done than the first second and fourth, fourth was the worst.Modeling of mommy dinosaur or Momzilla and the babies was very well done, the movie has the best adult humor in it out of the whole series and Ice Age 3 would be a movie for even adults to watch.Buck was the best "new" addition to the herd, until he left for Rudy at the end. He was hilarious like this:Manny: Look when exactly did you loose your mind? Buck: Hmm, three months ago, I woke up one morning married to a pineapple... AN UGLY PINEAPPLE... *sigh* But I loved her. That was funny as hell, and the Chasm of Death part was funny. Buck pushed it to a 8.And some of the scenes were kind of sad, like the farewell of the Dino-babies and Momzilla and the scene just before the eggs hatched. (You can see the babies in the eggs from the sunlight and Sid holding them and his shadow looks like a woman rubbing here tummy when she was pregnant) That pushes it to a 9.Overall, the movie was EXCELLENT, in my top 10, it grasped the concept of family, had cute baby dinosaurs, had dinosaurs in it, had a beautiful jungle under all of that ice.Good job Mike Thurmeier, I hope you direct Ice Age 5 yourself and bring the Momzilla back and the babies and Buck, it will be the either the new first best or second best Ice Age Movie!

With Mannie (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) shortly expecting their first child, Sid (John Leguizamo) fears for the future of the herd. Soon enough, Diego (Denis Leary) decides to leave after failing to catch a gazelle, fearing he has gone soft. Sid finds three eggs in an isolated underground grave which he excitedly adopts, only for them to hatch the next day into tyrannosaurus rex's. When their angry mother attacks the herd and takes her babies back with Sid with them, Mannie, Ellie, Diego, Crash (Seann William Scott) and Eddie (Josh Peck) go off in search of rescue only to discover an underground lost world still inhabited by dinosaurs. It is a hostile environment and the group are soon under attack, but they are rescued by a demented one-eyed weasel named Buck (Simon Pegg) who becomes their guide through the treacherous jungle. There seems to be continuing theme throughout the Ice Age films. It could be said the first film dealt with childhood, with the three hapless creatures dealing with a delicate baby, and the second film dealing with adolescence, with Mannie finally discovering a female mammoth and falling in love. Naturally, the third film has Mannie and Ellie having their own baby, and therefore focusing on adulthood. Even the sabre-toothed squirrel Scrat is growing up, finding a possible mate in Scratte, and giving all his attention to her rather than his beloved acorn (which seems to be lonely in an inspired yet quite bizarre love montage between the two). Although, in my opinion, the first sequel The Meltdown (2006) was a step back compared to the first film, the third is the best of the bunch, and it's nice to know that the films are growing just as their characters are.The 'underground lost world' is admittedly a bit of a cheap way to throw in some dinosaurs, but I found it hard to care with animation this beautiful. The opening shot amongst the tree tops of the jungle, with dinosaurs slowly moving and eating from trees, is truly stunning, and a real improvement of the slightly blocky animation of the first film. Sadly, Diego is again given little to nothing to do, and seems a waste of Leary's talents, but the introduction of Buck was certainly a smart one. With Buck as our insane tour guide, it becomes easier to put up with Mannie and Ellie's slightly dull moral heart of the story and enjoy lines such as "about three months ago I woke up married to a pineapple. An ugly pineapple! But I loved her so...". In Pegg's hands his sheer randomness is hilarious. Directors Carlos Saldanha and Mike Thurmeier have stepped up their game rather than relying on the Ice Age franchise to bring in the punters, and given the series the kick up the arse it needed.www.the-wrath-of-blog.blogspot.com
