This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

RoboCop (1987) is one and the only one the original masterpiece RoboCop action sci-fi flick the 80's the best one. It is my number 1 personal favorite action film it is right there with the Rambo films. This is ultimate awesome 80's movie one of the best movie ever. It is rated R action film with special effects, doesn't deal with CGI you have a lot of action blood squibs, business mens. Good cop been blow away and he is pieces together: part human part machine ultimate action film ever. Great Music Score by Basil Poledouris I absolutely love the theme for the RoboCop. Peter Weller is Officer Alex J. Murphy/RoboCop the only one. The film has a satire and a message in here. You'll see lots of heavy automatic, shot guns, handguns and explosive weapons with multiple huge explosions, with thousands of bullets fired in this movie. Bob Morton (Miguel Ferrer) is the heart of this film and I love him so much. They are now making RoboCop Returns which will ignore RoboCop 2 and I think it will be a horrible movie. The movie it self has heart and soul in it, the fact is you have a human being who loses his humanity and it brought back to life, he is resurrected and he is a superhuman super cop who once again regains his humanity and his trouble been robot and human. You really feel sad for Alex who loses his family and everything. As film as goes when a good cop Officer Alex J. Murphy (Peter Weller) gets blown away by ruthless thugs, innovative scientist OCP (Omni Consumer Products) piece him together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg called RoboCop. But while cleaning up the streets of violence-ravaged Detroit, RoboCop is tormented by memories of his former life and now he's out for more than justice...he wants revenge. RoboCop is my comic book hero my childhood hero and the movie I grew up with it. This is the best movie ever my all time favorite action movie. It is the best of the best of all time. Clarence J. Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) is really one of the best bad guys ever, you want to party with him. I love the 80's movies and this is my movie. I love the RoboCop suit design and I absolutely love The Enforcement Droid, Series 209, or ED-209, are a fully-automated series of peacekeeping machines created by Omni Consumer Products. The design for ED-209 is brilliant and the best thing off the film. I love it. I grew up with this movie, it has a special place in my heart and I love it to death. Here you have everything: brilliant story, good actors, stunts, puppetry, models, and good Special Effects. This is Paul Verhoeven and Peter Weller's best movie from the 80's they ever made. I used to had this movie on VHS the Rated R version but over the years the tape was eaten from VHS recorder so that I couldn't watch the movie properly anymore. 3 years earlier I got this movie on Blu-ray Unrated director's cut and my Blu-ray player scratched and eat the Blu-ray disc so I purchased the director's cut again on Blu-ray and I was blown away with the movie how good it is. You have great dialogues, one liners, great bad guys, wonderful actors: Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O'Herlihy, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Ferrer, Robert DoQui, Ray Wise, Felton Perry, Paul McCrane , Jesse D. Goins, Del Zamora and Calvin Jung.I love that the movie it self's shows the future and the corporations that the city is lead by OCP (Omni Consumer Products). This is the best the only film of the sequels and it was rebooted and reboot failed to be a RoboCop film. Paul Verhoeven directed this film with joy and passion one of the best films of all time. 10/10 my personal favorite action film of all time.

In the not too distant future, a Detroit police officer is gunned down by a gang of killers and is resurrected as a cyborg police officer. He later regains his humanity and craves vengeance for the gang that killed him. Robocop is sci-fi satire at its finest. It uses the action genre as a guise for deep social commentary on institutional power, media manipulation and consumerism. One of the most memorable lines from the film is 'I'll buy that for a dollar!' said by a character from a sitcom which satirises consumerist excess. We aren't given much context about the show except that everyone finds it utterly hilarious. Even the yuppy like executives, that the show openly makes fun of, embrace this cultural phenomena by referencing the line. This pretty much sums up Robocop's message in a nutshell. The film is directed by Paul Verhoeven and written by Edward Neumeier. Verhoeven is known for putting over exaggerated violence, sex, swearing and drugs throughout his films and Robocop is no exception. Most of the violence, except Alex Murphy's execution, is overly comical and this was done for a purpose. We laugh at the corporate climate, especially when an executive is blown to bits by a droid and is only labelled as 'a glitch'. The action in the movie is overly stylised to showcase the silly media driven and consumerist world. Even though Robocop is humorous this is not to say the film hasn't got heavy moments of drama and tragedy. Alex Murphy is like a cog in the machine, which is similarly explored in another Verhoeven film, 'Starship Troopers'. We see him trying to imitate a popular tv show 'TJ Laser' which encourages him to join the police force. Although this results in his death and you end up feeling sorry for the character despite his naivety. However, Alex Murphy ends up regaining his humanity which brings some hope in an otherwise pessimistic view of the future.Robocop is fantastic and is one of the smartest eighties sci-fi action films.

This film begins in a dystopian future with the city of Detroit faced with a horrendous crime wave coupled with massive unemployment. As the story unfolds a cop by the name of "Ajax J. Murphy" (Peter Weller) is reassigned from one precinct within the city to the most difficult and crime-ridden area of all. To make things even worse a big corporation known as "OCP" has essentially taken over control of the police department and virtually dictate all policy and procedures. So when Murphy get shot and killed in the line-of-duty they take his body and transform him into a cyborg which gives him increased strength and gun accuracy but at the cost of a complete loss of memory. Also included in his transformation is a secret protocol known as the "4th directive" intended to benefit those within OCP. Although there isn't anything Murphy can do about this his memory begins to return to a limited degree when his partner "Officer Anne Lewis" (Nancy Allen) attempts to remind him of certain events just prior to his being killed. In the meantime, however, office politics within the corporation begin to become a bigger problem to Murphy than the armed criminals out on the street. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that I remember watching this movie when it first came out and I continue to enjoy it to this day. Of course, it suffers a bit due to the passage of time but that is only to be expected. In any case, I encourage those interested in a movie of this type to check it out and I have rated it accordingly. Above average.

For a movie that is 30 years old, the social commentary is still great. Its got commercials for fake futuristic products, the fun of crazy action sequences, and one of my all-time favorite robots/droids in ED- 209. ED-209 is great and I wish someone made a small one that really interacted with you without telling me it was going to shoot me then actually shooting me. I don't need toys that murder. Peter Weller is great and the supporting cast is equally astounding. In watching this with the commentary I was shocked at how much thought went in to each scene. My only concern would be how violent and hard-R rated it is. I will have to wait until my children are at least 5 to watch it (just kidding).
