I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
This is one of the great movie which perfectly captures the rude behavior of a young mathematics genius, who had gone through a very tough time since his birth and made certain assumptions about society and had cultivated a defense mechanism on people he meets. His mentor helps him break his silence and enjoy the life in true sense which he wanted but was unable to due to his own nature!!
From start to end this movie makes you want to know more about the characters. The way it develops is such a good job from the director and production team. Also the actors pretty much seem like they are on their natural state and that makes you just dive in and want to connect with them. Easy to watch and hard to forget because you will never find and other movie like it,
Some of my all-time favorite movie scenes come from this movie. There are amazing messages and themes regarding socioeconomics, talent, love, etc. All of these aspects of life are intertwined into one, beautifully written movie. Countless insights on these aforementioned aspects that I had never thought about were presented in this movie; so in a way this movie changed my view on life to a certain extent. Robin Williams is moving as always, and I believe this is his best role. The sum of extraordinary scenes produces my favorite movie of all time. Not to mention the story of how this movie was written. Pure genius.
Minnie Driver, who played the role Skylar. An absolutely miscast. She was totally out of place in this film. For Will Hunting, played the role by Matt Damon, she's too old, too BIG and even got moustache. I've never heard any young female actor whose laughters so terrible, sounded more like an old hag, so repellent and so disgusting. Her British accent also felt so out of place in this film. Every scene involved her image was simply too painful to watch. Just horrible a viewing experience. If there's some kind technique that I could wipe or block out her images in this film, it would be perfect. Her KAKAKA weird old witch-like laughter haunted me and gave me nightmares, man. How could she pass the audition, signed up for this Skyler character? Don't say "It's not your fault!"
