Memorable, crazy movie
Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
As Good As It Gets
While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
This amazing film is about a group of people who traveled from Peru to Polynesia to prove Polynesians came from Peru.
Det var lite såhär "oj vad gör dom" men ändå lite sådär "båt" 4 båtar av 10
KON-TIKI is a realistic re-enactment of Thor Heyerdahl's famous voyage in 1947 in which he crossed the Pacific on a raft made of balsa wood. Well-cast and with an eye for authenticity, this takes the viewer on a journey with a bunch of tanned actors in the middle of a wide and desolate ocean with only the sun for company. The only real problem with this film is that there's little conflict in the narrative and that which does take place feels a little bit exaggerated. Scenes of the characters being attacked by sharks and the like are familiar but well portrayed, and the cast members are certainly all up to the job.
'Kon-Tiki'--based on the real life exploits of explorer and ethnographer Thor Heyerdahl--is certainly a handsomely made film with a refreshingly old fashioned sensibility to it that will likely feel like a breath of fresh air in this day and age of brooding heroes and dark gritty genre films, but unfortunately it lacks the necessary drama and peril to really lift it above average. The characters are very thinly drawn and never really developed as the story progresses, and once the cast of blonde haired Norwegians begin growing their bushy beards I'd challenge anyone but their mothers to tell them apart on sight.
