The Back-Up Plan (2010)

To me, this movie is perfection.

Such a frustrating disappointment

Excellent but underrated film

There is nothing redeeming about this movie. There is zero chemistry between the leads. (How could they make Alex O'Loughin look more dweebish than sexy?) The story is completely unrealistic. And I don't know how Lopez can vomit so much and yet keep her fake caterpillar eyelashes (and surrounding makeup)intact. Not only did I not laugh once, I didn't even break a smile. I can't believe any serious actor would sign up to do this movie. I felt sorry for the stunt dog that they stuck into the "cart like" thing, and feel sorry in general to poor cast that had to watch the lames scenes shot over and over. They probably wanted to quit. Poorly written. Mediocre acting. No heat. No laughter. No fun. Just horrible.

While this is not my favorite JLo movie, it is still worth the watch. Alex is absolutely adorable in this, it's truly nice to see him in a rom-com. He's been on my watchlist since his short-lived Moonlight. The Back-up Plan storyline is silly, but it's easy to go with it. Surely there are women that can relate to JLo's character's predicament! It is a bit far-fetched (ok, more than just a bit) that a man you just met and dated a bit would stick by you if he had just found out you hit the sperm bank and are pregnant, but like I said- the story is silly. The movie, at times, felt a bit long, but then again, you are following along with her pregnancy. I found her best friend to be extremely obnoxious, but I get it, she had to have a sidekick of sorts. I was surprised to see Eric Christian Olsen in this film, but not surprised that he was funny. More rom-coms for Alex and Eric both please!

This movie was really bad! SPOILERS after this point: J.Lo is playing a woman that makes no sense, first off. She can't trust anyone. So how does she run her own business? Doesn't she have to trust her co-workers? What about every other thing in life? I guess she has no business with anyone, since she can't trust them! She can't eat at restaurants since she can't trust that they will get her order right. Yet she does all things a normal person does.If she was abnormal I would believe this plot. But since she has a job, has friends, social life, is happy, etc.... I just can't take that she has a severe mental problem of JUST not trusting guys. The story was that her father left her mother. And that you can't trust/rely on anyone. Sooooooo that means she has to be 110% crazy! She should be in a mental facility! Also the fact that this guy has this much patience makes no sense. I guess he is a non-existent person like Zoe! The water birth scene, among others, was JUST DISGUSTING! NOT funny or sense making, BUT JUST DISGUSTING.I am ashamed that I watched this movie!

I loved this film, it was funny sweet and easy to watch. Nobody gets killed no violence, a pleasant change. Both actors did great, leading man Alex (Hawaii Five-0) is gorgeous beyond words, loved the scene when she was driving to his farm and crashes because she cant take her eyes off him. There's a lot of bad reviews on here about this movie but I'm wondering what some people were actually expecting, its a real chick flick and def worth a watch (with female friends, leave the boyfriend and his pack to watch Saw/ Drag me to hell ) Yes the ending was a little predictable but whats wrong with that ? Like I said just a fun girlie movie with a completely gorgeous leading man(who can also act I might add) so don't be put off by all the bad reviews on here 10/10 hthbrr2 wow you're so intense, every movie you have reviewed on here has the same input. Seriously you need to chill out !
