I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

he is the basic motif to see this movie. as a movie, with performances, solid character, decent purposes of the lead hero and his romanticism in hard situations. Olga Kurylenko is the second motif. for a large public. for the expected classic story between him and her. but the film has the gift to be the perfect choice for the fans of video action games. this is its basic characteristic. simple, convincing, fascinating. who transforms "Hitman" in wise option just for fun. and, maybe, for a fascinating character with virtues of vulnerable super- hero.

Based on a Video Game, but that Hardly Matters to Anyone but a Myopic, Pimply-Faced, Shut-In. This Movie's Only Concern is Entertaining Raging Testosterone Types in High-Contrast-Style with more than a bit of the "Old Ultra-Violence".Timothy Olyphant is "Agent 47", You Know, Nameless, Brain-Washed Assassins Trained to Kill and Drained of a Soul. Sometimes Though, it Doesn't Take and Human Elements start to surface, and that makes for Movie Fun. Just ask Jason Bourne. Here the Blood-Splatter is in High-Definition and Delivered at Regular Intervals as the Story Rapidly Unfolds and it is Quite the Sophomoric Thrill-Ride in the "Unrated" Version. Olga Kurylenko as the Obligatory Female, who Shows Some Female Parts to get the Juices Flowing for its Target Audience, becomes Attached to 47 like a Beautiful Barnacle.Overall, this cannot be Denied its Ability to Deliver what is Expected from this Type of Thing, and if You go into it with the Right Attitude it is Exactly what One Wants if One is Want to Watch this Form of Entertainment. Be it from Comic-Books or Videogames, this is what it is and that's All that it is. Pop-Art.

I have played all the games, some with more enthusiasm then others, but I like them all, especially the first one.Lets start by saying that most game-to-movie films isn't always a very good adaption, and some games will be harder to adapt to the big screen, then others. The first thing you need is a good story, there is lot to go on from the game/games to the script/movie and they did do a very nice job picking some points and scenes that tells the story without giving it all away. The second thing is a lead actor, and I must say that Timothy Olyphant really fits the part and hits how I think the character 47 should be, he has the appearance and the characteristics and is all in all portraying this character very well. And then it all has to come together wit the scenery, the camera angles, the lighting, special effects and CG. I really thing they did a very nice job all the way.

The bad thing about this movie is that it bears the title "Hit-man". It basically has nothing to do with the video game series, however. In the games, which I highly recommend, by the way, the objective is to remain silent and invisible. Usually, there is just one kill per mission, which is the one of the target person. The movie, on the other side, is a typical action movie. No need for brains, no need for sneaking or silence. The Hit-man in this movie just shoots down everyone in his way, leaving a trail of corpses behind and not being very subtle. But it still is an acceptable action movie. Timothy Olyphant and Olga Kurylenko are doing a great job in playing a killer and a prostitute. Olyphant's movement and behavior (except for action sequences) actually even remind you of the "real" 47. The action itself is okay as well. Quite gory at times and over the top, but entertaining nevertheless. If you watch this movie and expect it to be a film version of the game series, you are going to be really disappointed. But if you, as I did, take it as a simple action movie and forget about the fact that it is trying to resemble the video game, you are probably going to enjoy it at least a little bit as it is a decent action movie.
