"Jackass" was a famous and infamous MTV reality/comedy franchise that initially ran for 25 episodes over three seasons between 2000-2002. A sort-of spin-off of popular underground skateboarding magazine "Big Brother", the original series featured a gang of fearless (well... mostly fearless) performers engaging in broad, humorous and often dangerous (and disgusting) pranks, stunts and practical jokes... usually revolving around a painful or humiliating set of circumstances. However, a series of controversial events in which children and teens seriously hurt or even killed themselves trying to recreate stunts from the series and complaints from parents lead to MTV attempting to censor the show and restrict what the cast could do on air, causing some friction. That, coupled with the loss of a few cast members during the third season lead to the decision to end the series. However, a greater gamer was afoot for the entire "Jackass" crew. Because despite the show ending... something bigger was coming. That being a feature-length, Hard-R continuation in the form of "Jackass: The Movie." Released a few months after the series finale, the movie picks up right where it left off, with every major cast-member returning and the stakes raised thanks to the time and budget a feature-film afforded them. Stars Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, Preston Lacy, Dave England and Ehren McGhehey were back and better than ever! With far less restrictions thanks to the hard-R rating that would keep kids out of theaters, the entire film is filled to burst with things they certainly couldn't show on TV! And it is hilarious! It's hard to write a review of the film because much like the series, there's no plot or story. Just a collection of short 2-3 minute vignettes and segments revolving around a specific stunt or prank. These range from a hilarious opening in which a rental car is used for a demolition derby to a series of amusing pranks in which cast- member Chris Pontius portrays the character "Party Boy"- who likes to strip and dance in public settings to get a reaction out of baffled onlookers. The stand-outs here are a number of skits where the gang heads to Japan, which paid off two-fold. First, they didn't necessarily need to get waivers from the public so they wouldn't have to blur the faces of the crowds and you could see real public reactions you can't always get in America... and second, it provided a brilliant new setting for the gang! I won't spoil the many Japanese-set segments... but they are pure gold! It's very much a film for the fans of the series. It provides basically everything you could want, and then some. However, I am going to dock a few points for a few particular reasons. Mainly pertaining to some minor problems I have with the structure and the fact that this is also by far the weakest of the three theatrical films. I do think that upon re-watching "Jackass: The Movie", it doesn't quite hold up as much as it ought have. Being their first go-around without having to worry about censors... I think they didn't take it as far as they could have, and there are some minor issues with the editing and pacing. It just doesn't have the same manic flow or level of brilliant revulsion that the two sequels obtained. It's getting there... but it just isn't there quite yet.Still, if you're a fan of the series or even just like the concept, and you haven't seen it, I would definitely recommend "Jackass: The Movie." It's not the best of the franchise, but it's a solid installment and a great first stab at a theatrical release. Just be sure to have an iron stomach, because some of the stunts and the pranks I didn't mention above are just... icky. I give it a good 8 out of 10.

I love this movie for multiple reasons. The way it was filmed reminds me of something me and my friends would film, as it is very DIY and low budget. The camera appears to be a home video camcorder, and everything they do in the movie for the most part doesn't cost anything. They break many laws, harm themselves quite a bit, and document all of this into an hour long movie in a documentary type format. I looked up to Bam Margera a lot as a skateboarder when i was young and just started skating for whatever reason. So that's another reason why I like this movie a lot. And over all it gives off a pretty cool vibe, almost like you're there just hanging out with your friends.

This movie is the film adaptation of a shameful American television series where crazy people make things even more crazy, and seem happy about it. Directed by Jeff Tremaine, is starring Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Chris Pontius and others whom I cannot call actors, or artists, in order not to insult, thus, the real actors and artists from any country.Unfortunately, film is more of an industry than an art today. And when money speaks louder than judgment or logic, it happen these shameful and unfortunate films, that should never have even been imagined. Not worth wasting my time to analyze what went wrong in this movie because EVERYTHING went the hard way that could run. This is not a movie, isn't worthy of these name. It's garbage, pure waste of time for those who see it and worse, it had sequelae! It's like those pests that affect plants and never come out of there! When trying to see this film (I couldn't for more than ten minutes, I think we need to be totally devoid of intelligence to be able to see it completely!), I found myself reflecting on the decay of the human race. We are at a time when we could be all, achieve knowledge as never had and improve our behavior through more human and beneficial values. But we are wasting these opportunity choosing to worship the idiocy and stupidity. This film, and all that followed, is proof of that. I hope that Darwin is right and natural selection do its job properly, for the good of humanity.P.S.: I gave this movie a star because IMBb's system does not allow us to rate below zero to a movie.

Jackass the Movie is a spin off from the television series and is more explicit. The film would be popular with teenagers and stoners but for others it is an acquired taste as group of men take part in bizarre stunts, sometimes injuring themselves and with Candid Camera type antics which might be genuine or a set up with all the participants being in on the joke. Some of the physical stunts include tropical pole vaulting, stunt cycling/skateboarding, tightrope walking under alligators. You have stunts such as stock car racing with a rental car, setting fireworks off from your backside, getting beaten up by a boxer or kick boxer and some of the weird ones includes a man going to a hardware store and defecating in the display toilet and that is after he seemingly crapped in his pants getting there. The film will horrify some, sicken others, a few will find it hilarious. A couple of the sketches are genuinely funny such as the golfers getting disturbed by an air horn but mainly the feature film format is just overlong and you try to figure out which of the hidden camera parts are real and which are a fake.
