Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

I have never seen the movie and I do not want to for the trailer put me off it. What happens in the trailer is that he crashes his car and seeks shelter at a woman's house. He then starts to terrorize her and guess what? She attacks him like the sexist bitch she is. Not only does Tajiri P Henson beat and kill Idris Elba, she punches the guy playing her husband at the end. I found that bit out through wikipedia. Tajiri P Henson is a poor excuse of a woman, for even though she was being invaded, she had no right to do any of the stuff she done to Idris. The people who let her get away with it are just as bad. Stay away from this movie, its pure sexist. 1/10 stars as I can't rate it -10

No Good Deed is actually not a bad film as such, it sticks rigidly to a formula and has all the requisite requirements - however ridiculous - for a home invasion thriller, and does it competently. The problem is that it has absolutely nothing new to appeal to anyone who has been watching movies through the 80s and 90s.The 1990s was particularly a thriving hot-bed for such thriller fare, where some unhinged nut-case - male or female - would impose themselves upon some amiable good person's life, and then unleash mentally distorted hell upon them. Sam Miller's film is just a lazy retread of what has gone long before. Only he and his backers think that shifting the focus to black characters somehow makes it more vibrant. It doesn't.Idris Alba is a fine actor (in great physical shape as usual), and Taraji P. Henson is a more than effective actress, but the turgid screenplay on offer here does them no favours, where even an intended "big reveal" is hamstrung by the familiarity of it all. If one is fortunate to be of a youthful enough age and lucky enough to be viewing this thriller format for the first time? Then this works, it absolutely does. The more mature film lovers, however, will be jaded to the point of sleep status. And no, that's not meant to be patronising. 4/10

Idris Elba is outstanding as Colin, an escaped convict who shows up at the door of Terry, a perfect wife and mother, (well played by Taraji P Henson) on a stormy night following a car accident. He is a charming sociopath and she is a lonely, neglected wife whose husband is on a weekend trip. We feel the tension from the moment they meet - the actors have true chemistry which only raises the level of suspense and keeps you watching. He senses that she's vulnerable - she's alone during a storm with two small children and he knows just what buttons to push. Leslie Bibb is also excellent in her role as Meg, Terry's longtime best friend who immediately senses that all is not what it seems when she comes over for a planned girls night. We don't see much of Terry's husband Jeffrey, but Henry Simmons does a good job playing the indifferent and arrogant spouse who can't wait to leave the house for a golf weekend with his Dad. We see right away that Terry gets very little attention and longs to be appreciated, which are qualities that make her vulnerable to Colin's attention. I don't understand the negative reviews - this is a nicely acted, suspenseful thriller with a great twist at the end. If you have 90 minutes or so to sit down and be entertained, I highly recommend this movie.

Idris Elba has "it" and by that I mean that charisma that shines through your screen. He's really able to captivate you and even when he's not the best of characters you still root for him (only to a certain degree of course, one he passes a line there's no coming back). Though he's still a charmer, he can't help it.This one is very straight forward, though there is an extra layer it all. It doesn't really matter that much though, because some things, while resolved do not feel handled the right way. The no good deed goes unpunished is something all of us will experience at one point in our lives, though normally not to that extreme as in this movie. Decent enough thriller, nothing more, nothing less
