The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

This movie is a no-brainer and gives hope to bighearted dorks around the globe. To get the girls (oh yes, girls) and coming out a winner while tackling a subject such as sexuality in an untroubled and fun way while simultaneously getting a happy ending? Great!Easy and fun, albeit, unbelievable but still a great ride. Literally. I had a few good laughs in there and I'm pretty sure you'll appreciate the lightheartedness of it too. If it was meant to be a flop when it first came out and doesn't seem like it has cult following potential, I now highly believe the opposite. I think this movie has the makings of a "classic adolescent movie". Give it 10 more years and the teens of the coming age will give I Love You, Beth Cooper a chance as my peers have given The Breakfast Club and Empire Records a chance. And you know what? Everybody loved those movies. So, I won't be surprised either if people will end up loving this as well.

earlier i said Catwoman is the worst movie ever, well i only saw internet reviews, and i take it back THIS is the worst movie I've ever SEEN.i didn't see this movie in theaters, i forgot it pretty quickly, my parents rented it from the library for me, since we were fans of heroes, i like Hayden Panettiere, me and my brother watched it in my room, a half hour later, my parents asked me why i didn't finish, i just had no words i could say nothing, i am glad they took it back to the library and it's not seen at my library anymore what happened? why would Hayden Panettiere and director Chris Columbus of Home Alone, Harry Potter (and the movie Percy Jackson he directed one year later had something better to offer) agree to this i don't know is this is supposed to be a parody of teen films or what? but i don't care i cant put it into words, this is the ugliest repulsive worst movie I've ever seen.i am of the few people who hated American Pie, for how unlikable the characters were, and not funny the gross out humor was, even American Pie had some believability, and one funny character.the "nerdy" guy were supposed to identify with is a douche from the very beginning and is nonredeemable even by the end, the "hot boyfriend" and the "hot girl" are both psychos, the gay friend who quotes movies (i take offense to this character) is just unrealistically horrible, everyone is unrealistic i just cant put it into words, i barely got through half of this movie, i was just so repulsed at this disgusting horrible image at what someone thinks teen comedies are supposed to be like.

I saw this trainwreck of a film because it aired after a better program was over and I was too lazy to grab the remote and change the channel. Basically this is a ripoff of all of John Hughes' best films from the eighties, from Breakfast Club to Weird Science. As a Hughes fan this hurts. As a Hughes fan who knows that Chris Columbus worked with John Hughes before, this hurts even more. The physical comedy with the Army boyfriend and his buddies and the soul-searching introspective dialogue between Beth and Denis might have worked if this were '85 and Hughes was pinning the script but Larry Doyle is no John Hughes and this certainly isn't 1985. If anything I'm amazed that movies like this are greenlit. If you want teen humor mixed with some surprising character development and intelligent dialogue, just rent or buy Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club or Weird Science. Heck, you could even go with Dawson's Creek which is more Hughes than this movie could ever be.

I am reviewing the movie "I Love You, Beth Cooper," starring Hayden Panettiere, Paul Rust, and Jack Carpenter. I remember looking at the previews of the movie a couple years ago and thinking to myself that it looks like the making of a okay movie. Hayden Panettiere and Lauren London is in it and Chris Columbus is the director, so how bad can it be. It also made me think that this could be your typical boy meets girls high school movie that tries to be way too funny. Then I heard there was a book out on it. When I found that out, I talk to some people that I know, that read the book, and they gave me a different outlook on the movie. They made me feel like it shouldn't be your typical "boy meets girl" high school movie. With that said I thought it was an okay movie. The movie is suppose to be about a valedictorian(played by Paul Rust) that is in love with a cheerleader.(played by Hayden Panettiere) I honestly laughed more than I thought I would.(even though I'm not a person that's hard to make laugh) I felt as though Hayden Panettiere might have been a little too popular for this role. She gave Coverman sort of a wild day, but I'm under the impression that it should have and could have been wilder. I think Columbus might have done too many flashbacks of their lives in this movie. Some of them I felt like were not needed. Like when Dr. Gleason (played by Andrea Savage) had her flashback. I just think that could have been left out of the movie and thrown into the "deleted scenes" pile. I also kind of thought that Beth Cooper was suppose to be the main character in the movie. Too often it felt like Dennis Coverman and Rich Munsch were the stars of the show and the two second kiss to get the beer...come on Coverman didn't have to act like that. It was not that serious. There were also times were Kevin and his boys might have came into the movie too often. Them coming out of nowhere during the shower scene was a little much. Honestly, the shower scene kind of wasn't really needed. What I thought was good about the movie was Paul Rust and Jack Carpenter's acting. I thought that Jack was funny and he had great timing, plus his facial expressions were on point when it came to his part of the comedy. Paul Rust also did a good job at being a nerd. Somebody that is too cool of a person could have easily messed that up. I thought that most of his movements and actions were on point and he did a great job. I feel as though Paul Rust and Jack Carpenter are going to be some good actors for the future. The soundtrack throughout the movie didn't sound bad either. For some reason, with these kinds of movies, musicians do a good job of coming up with songs that fit these kinds of movies. All in all, it's not the worst movie I have seen. I'm giving this movie a 6 out of 10.
