When I traveled to China in 2001 I had an experience where I saw my grandmother sitting on a bench. She was holding my hand and telling me that everything was OK and that she has passed. I had this dream twice in two night, until I learned from family that she did pass.I am an atheist. I do not believe in a god or creator. We are part of a bigger picture that as humans we are too ignorant to see, feel or hear. The dead are all around us all the time. We are caught up in our lives and material possessions. We sink in to our electronic devices and miss the world around us.Matt Damon does a good job of being a believable physic and the rest of the supporting cast is well matched. The special effects are good enough to keep you interested in the action. The script moves along at a good pace and takes you from moment to moment with no delays.I like how they portrayed the dead and their spirits in the afterlife. It reminds me of my experience with my grandmother.I think this movie is a bit better than "What Dreams This Way Came" because it gets rid of the abstract art and presents the viewer with reality of the scene. It is more realistic. While not all the movie is perfect, there are enough perfect scenes to give this move a thumbs up

This is good movie. Great story line and delivery, good acting. Except for the woman playing Matt Damon's cooking class love interest. I didn't bother looking up her name. I hope to never see her again. Her empty personality while ending every sentence in a school girl giggle and whiny voice along with her emaciated face and body were exceptionally disturbing to the flow of the story and resulted in my uncharacteristic desire to see her character die a horrible death for being the whiny pushy person her character was. "Pleeeeaaseee" Oh, please. Anyway, other than this, the movie is truly good. I can never rewatch it simply for her role in it. Be prepared.

This movies' topic was not properly detailed within the movies first 2 hours, if at all. This movie left me wanting....... a resolution. Eastwood is not Camus. What was this movie about? the topic has its limited appeal. In the movie they even mentioned that, was that a little joke. There seems to be a cult like following in this topic. Clint Eastwood, has done so many great projects. Matt Damon is great actor What, and why would they make this movie.

Wow, This was super good, telling the story of three people in different parts of the world who are touched by death and then search for the truth about what comes next -the hereafter. The opening scene with Marie, a French journalist and the tsunami is just incredibly done, so realistic.Another favourite was with the schoolboys hat in the London tube and figuring out what that meant. Lots to think about with this movie, where do we go when we die? Matt Damon plays George, a blue collar worker who is also able to see into the afterlife and this little "gift" has forced him to live a very lonely life. I'm a big fan of Damon's but for whatever reason I just didn't enjoy him in this role.I liked that this took place in several different countries and with separate story lines and characters converging as they search for their truth.
