Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

Unless you have the IQ of a turnip, you already know this series is fake. However, the producers in their wisdom have decided if they can cut off more heads with bad camera angles and implore worse sound they might still convince us of the reality of this film. If you go on U-Tube or watch the amateur submissions to some America's video TV show, you will see that we are better photographers than this series makes us out to be.In the beginning, Hunter is kidnapped as an infant. We then jump to 5 years later. The film starts out mostly of a young male filming a teen female (Kathryn Newton). She has a younger brother Wyatt (Aiden Lovekamp). When Robbie (Brady Allen)the creepy young boy next door shows up with his imaginary friend weird things begin to happen. Alex, our teen girl allows the young man (Matt Shively) to set up cameras around the house to film the weird things that are going on and to cut off everyone's head. While weird things were caught on camera, they never went back to view the films which was the whole purpose of setting up the cameras in the first place.Special effects, and by by "special" I mean ride the short bus special, included the chandelier moving, doors opening, chairs moving, covers coming off, and a bad levitation scene. No pool crawler getting out of the pool by itself. This was by far the least of the series. If you were a big fan of the other three, you might find enjoyment in this one as this is upgraded to color. These films are cheap to make and pay for themselves in the opening weekend. Don't expect the franchise to go away anytime soon. Kathryn Newton did a good job in spite of the script and horrible camera shooting.Parental Guide: F-bomb, C-blocking. No sex or nudity.

Sadly he died right after filming wrapped up from a heart attack. He starred in this crappy movie with his real life wife Alexondra Lee. I was never a fan of this franchise to begin with but I liked him so I gave it a shot. slow and plodding and just a rehash of the previous 3. They should put this franchise to rest.

After finding the third Paranormal Activity (PA) movie to be far better than expected,I was pleased to discover that the directors of the third PA had also directed the 4th title in the series, which led to me getting ready to witness the paranormal activity again. The plot:2011:After his mum becomes ill Ben is taken care of by some nearby neighbour. Shortly after Ben moves into the house, objects start to move on their own,and an eerie atmosphere engulfs the house.Wanting to find out what is going on,Alex decides that she will set up cameras all over the house to film what is going on.When the cameras start rolling,Ben decides it is time to unveil his "invisible" friend. View on the film:For their final experience of the paranormal, directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman display a sharp eye for haunted house happening, with Joost & Schulman covering the house in a great mix of murky darkness and neon green, which shatter when the paranormal cross the screen.Showing interest in the ghostly shivers of the film,Joost and Schulman appear less keen on the new direction the series is being taken,as open "tributes" to other Horror titles distract from the attempted change of direction the movie is being taken into.Since the last 2 movies had wrapped up the entire origins, the screenplay by Christopher Landon & Chad Feehan attempts to drag the haunted house into an "evil child" direction.Whilst this route does lead to some good creepy scenes with strange kids,it also undermines everything that had been built up in the first 3 films, thanks to the writers leaving the tense horror for a chance to pull the ghost/demon mythology into limbo.Being the first to suspect that something is up, Kathryn Newton gives a terrific performance as Alex, who Newton threads a quick-witted sense of ingenuity with a spine-tingling fear of the unknown,as Alex meets the paranormal.
