Fantastic!

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Being about a comedian, this is seriously funny. I will admit, I was moderately high the entire time I watched this. It only makes all the comedy that much better. There's a lot of California history that was interesting to look back on as we struggle, in 2016, against California cities trying to ban all forms of personal marijuana. I laughed a lot, and wished it was slightly longer. Yep, I wished a documentary was longer! Seriously though, it is well told and there is a lot of information presented. Also, as someone who only got into marijuana (and was formerly against it) as the result of a medical diagnosis, this helped me accept the marijuana a little more.

Yesterday, 2/27/2009, I was out with a buddy of mine getting his tattoo done. The artist who was doing the art work for him also did my retirement tattoo. Once "Mark" saw me he said, "HEY JOHN! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MOVIE 'SUPER HIGH ME'??" I looked at it and said, "HELL KNOW! I DON'T WATCH CRAP LIKE THAT! WHY?" He said, "DUDE! THEY TALK ALL SORTS OF SH*T ABOUT YOU ON THIS MOVIE-THEY REALLY DON'T LIKE YOU!" I said, "what's it about???" Mark, the artist said, "it's about medical marijuana!" The other cops in the room with us started to laugh and scream, "That's the Officer Smith we know and love! He can put the fear of God in any thug and make a grown convict cry!!" Now, for all you viewers out in TV land, I have not seen the movie yet. However, for your info; I retired in Decemeber of 2006, after The City Doctors found out I broke my back on duty when I was stuck by a car chasing a gangster with a gun out on Victory Blvd-so I have really lost touch with the all the dopers in North Hollywood-I am kinda out of the loop on this.Prior to my retirement I was the cop in North Hollywood from LAPD who shut down and arrested many of the medical pot people in the Studio City and North Hollywood area of Los Angeles.NO! I DON'T SMOKE OR TAKE YOUR CRAP TO HELP WITH THE PAIN OF MY BROKEN BACK! I go to the gym and have recovered just fine and better now than I was when I was taking all your dope away and throwing you idiots in jail! DAMN THAT WAS FUN! Every now and then since I retired, I get a message from some LAPD Dope cop who see's my photo still posted on your web sites, posted in some pot store, or something run by the pot heads-these police officers all call to warn me for "officer safety" reasons. I joke with them and laugh like crazy at the whole thing.I just wanted to thank all my "Friends" in the medical pot business, AND THOSE WHO DID THIS MOVIE for all the added status you have given me before and now in my retirement!By doing this movie and posting my photo on line you keep my status as a LAPD COPPER alive and well! Things like this have really helped me out in since my retirement from the Los Angeles Police Department! I no longer live in California or Los Angeles for that fact I moved from that miserable state and city. I moved to a state/city where there is NO CHANCE of you setting up any of this crap; The Great State of-Texas! I took my pension (which is great by the way!) and all my income out of California and Los Angeles- too bad both are going broke! I'm living the good life these days! When I show photos from your pot clubs and movies like this to my new community and to law enforcement groups in Texas; they all shake their heads in disgust and say "NOT IN OUR STATE!" I have even gotten job offers to work in the law enforcement in Texas-THANKS SO MUCH! To bad your state and city are urban combat zones! I still think you are a bunch of dope dealers and scum bags however you can have that miserable state and City of Los Angeles-you dope dealers, that corrupt mayor, and corrupt LA city government all deserve each other! As for me; I am loving it!!! So if you ever make it to Texas-'SMILE! The eyes of Texas are upon you!!!" Who knows-it maybe me who puts your tail ends in jail again- for ol time sake! For fans of Doug Benson's comedy, be it stand-up or "Best Week Ever", you'll get more out of this documentary on him as he goes 30 days with weed and 30 days without then other viewers. If one goes into the film expecting an intelligent documentary on the pros Vs. cons of weed you'll be vastly disappointed. One only needs to know that this was made 'in cahoots' (the film's words not mine) with 420 Partners Llc to know which side of the fence this film firmly sits on and thus skews the 'infomation' in that direction and to suit it's need. Propaganda in a way, not to say it's not (vaquely) entertaining in bits and pieces, it is. Just go into the film knowing that it's slanted and you'll be fine.My Grade: C-

Before saying anything about this movie let me say this. I do not smoke pot.I rented this movie thinking oh great, a funny stand-up doing material and thats what it was. A stand-up, who got all his stand-up friends to do little interviews about smoking pot. I gotta say, was laughing like crazy through most of it. But mixed in, was a lot of serious opinion and anger about government control of pot and clashes between state and federal laws.If you are looking for something truly scientific and credible, this isn't it. If you are looking for a good time and don't mind some opinions, I highly highly recommend this movie. Doug Benson is funny as are his friends who appear and even the studies are funny.Watch it, enjoy it, don't take it seriously!
