It is a performances centric movie
How sad is this?
Good movie but grossly overrated
Best movie of this year hands down!
Cooper (Reese Witherspoon) is a "hyper-focus" policewoman. She is allowed to leave the evidence locker to escort a reluctant high value witness (Sofía Vergara) to Dallas. Circumstances causes their plans to go awry and they become on the run, trying to avoid both criminals and cops who want them dead. The movie is cute, but not an over powering comedy. The jokes get old fast such as Sofia's age and Witherspoon's height. Sofia wear a shirt which says "Butter my Biscuits" for much of the film while Reese boasts a red dress. They shared a kissing scene and a cat fight because that is what the writers had to stoop to to get laughs. The film had potential as Reese got to use a full southern accent, but the script flopped.Guide: F-bomb in soundtrack. No sex or nudity.
The movie is a disaster. Don't waste your time and money. Witherspoon can act better than this. Vergara can't act at all. She had no problem being half naked in this movie, standing there in her bra showing off her fake boobs. She just loves that kind of attention and is so full of herself, that of course she's going to pursue a movie where she can flaunt herself. She just screams through the movie demonstrating the twit that she really is. She sucks as an actress in her stupid TV show too and I just don't understand why it's still on the air because it's so mindless and a waste of time. She's not an actress, she's a bimbo that's full of herself and likes to show off.
Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vegara stars in action comedy about a young female cop who tasked to provide security to a widow of a drug lord as they cross towards Texas amidst crooked cops and murderers that is entitled Hot Pursuit.Anne Fletcher directed this buddy comedy. The film is similar to the Thelma & Louise in the sense that we have two female lead characters who are on the road. But unlike the Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis starrer, this film is definitely lacking in more ways than one.We have a lot of unfunny jokes and a thin plot.Added to that,it presents nothing new as all the elements present in it are definitely going to be familiar for many moviegoers from the similar films they have seen in the past. Too bad that the film did not capitalize on Witherspoon and Vergara acting talents.Basically,it was just a visually entertaining film as we get to see these two gorgeous women for most part of the film and nothing more.
Inane, inept buddy comedy with too few laughs to sustain its borderline offensive story about a high-strung cop (Reese Witherspoon) trying to protect a witness (Sophia Vergara) who is supposed to testify against a drug lord. A film like this sinks or floats on the chemistry between its leads, since it doesn't have anything else going for it, and unfortunately Witherspoon and Vergara don't have much. They aren't helped by the weak screenplay or the flat direction. This looks like a slightly raunchier network TV sit-com. The clunky, uninspired action sequences never generate any excitement and serve to illustrate that its leads are not particularly gifted physical comedians. The humor is infantile and thoughtless, which might have been okay if it wasn't all stale about a decade ago. Those hoping, as I was, for Witherspoon to return to form headlining a truly engaging and funny comedy -- something we all know she can do superbly -- will have to wait a while longer. The most interesting thing about this movie is trying to figure out what made anyone. especially Witherspoon, think it was a project worth spending time and energy on.
