I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

The era of crank phone calls has sure taken a twist. When fast food restaurant manager (Ann Dowd) gets a phone call from someone identifying himself as policeman, she springs into action. Young Becky is accused of stealing from a customer. The assistance of the manager and others in this matter grows until it becomes inane. The film brings light to the problem of serial strip search crank calls...something I didn't know existed. This film is based on the Mount Washington, Kentucky incident which BTW was a McDonald's.The film acting was okay. There is a high perv factor whenever you force a young girl to be stripped searched. Unfortunately this is pretty much the entire film as there is no real subplot to entertain us. This is one of those pervert films masquerading as something that makes a statement such as "Shame." Watch it. Enjoy it. Disturbing? Thought provoking? Oh Please. It's soft core porn.Parental Guidance: F-bombs, nudity (Dreama Walker).

I'm 20 minutes into this movie, and I can't believe no one said "can you get the guy on the phone to come down here and show us a badge"! I know the movie is based on true events, but this flies in the face of common sense.

If this had been a film crafted without any factual basis I would have given it a one. The characters were incompetent beyond reason. Only two throughout the film used any form of rational thought.Even a basic understanding of police procedure was not understood. After watching the film I researched the incident and the only detail that was changed made the film less disturbing than actual events. It is remarkable that this was the worst out of 70 incidents. Perhaps not so much for it being the worst, yet the fact this happened on 70 different occasions.I am very familiar with the Milgram experiments and this movie goes to show just how little we question authority. The acting was very well done, but I felt the movie should have spent more time on the court proceedings that followed. The end result was disturbing as well. I had a hard time enjoying the movie with how senseless the main characters acted.Real Score: 5.4

This is one of those "truth is often stranger than fiction" films. I agree with other reviewers that if this had been a work of complete fiction, I would probably have switched off after half an hour. As I knew it was all a true, if probably somewhat diluted, version of actual events I just sat there growing more and more disbelieving at every turn of events. It ended up being a fascinating and sickening look at how little we actually question authority and how far some people actually are willing to go when given "permission". I guess it's easy to sit and watch thinking "I wouldn't have done this or I wouldn't have done that" but this story just shows how many of us have been conditioned not to question authority and to basically do as we are told. As for the film itself, the acting was good and if you have the stomach for it, I would give it a go...it is an eye opener and certainly makes you think.
