The Heat (2013)

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

I just watched the Heat and I didn't find it as funny as people say it is. It started out quite funny, but got predictable and boring. The two characters had such opposite personalities that I didn't find many surprises in how they would act.

Sandra was great as always. McCarthy was awful The writer(s) and directors of movies this bad must go home and cry that they have to write and direct such pablum. One of the great things about a good movie and especially a great movie is the ability to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the movie.It was impossible in this movie. I am so tired of buddy cop movies with opposites that end up the way we know it will.The writer(s) of this dreck must have phoned it in since it is beyond basic BU boilerplate. Nothing in it is original and the director must have just showed up, let the two read their lines and then go home and get drunk.How else can you explain one of the worst movies ever made. I honestly believe it made money strictly based on the two female stars and most Sandra with audiences figuring she has never made a bad movie.My main objection? Does ANYONE believe a cop could act the way McCarthy does and not get fired? Assaulting a senior officer would get you fired so fast your head would become a blur.IT was just plain an awful movie. I avoided it until tonight and all I can think is any cop who acted like that would be doing time already. Broke laws, assaulted civilians, and to be honest someone would have blown her away knowing they were doing the cops a favor.Speaking extras were better actors than this slob. So glad I didn't waste any money at the theaters and not on paid cable on this dreck.Just so awful as to make you wonder about the intelligence of the movie-going population.

I thought it was funny to see the genders reversed and these girls doing what men did in the same roles (without the addition of naked women seemingly necessary in male buddy cop movies for the intelligent plot lines). People complaining in the review section about swear words coming from a woman would have no problem with males who did it while playing cops e.g. Bruce Willis or Eddie Murphy (they would have had no problems with the way Murphy talked about women in his movies). Somehow when a lady points a gun at a guy's crotch or makes jokes about men's body parts it's out of line, when men have been doing it for years in such masterpieces as Beverly Hills Cop or Die Hard. It's funny how someone here complained about how little Bullock's character cried when stabbed with a knife, yet no complaints from them on the Die Hard review about Willis's super human strength when hurt. Oh he's a man though lol.

I honestly don't get why this movie is so low rated. I personally found the acting to be amazing and the story line was great! People who said it wasn't funny must not have a good sense of humour because I found it hilarious!! Do NOT listen to the reviews! Check it out yourself before you make a decision about whether you like it or not! Melissa Mcartney is starting to become very popular because c'mon she's hilarious! And Sandra bullock has had our hearts since miss congeniality came out! So definitely check it out if you want a good laugh!
