The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Three American guys are on vacation in Paris when one meets & falls in love with the daughter from AAWIL. Needless to say she is a werewolf & he becomes one too. Whereas AAWIL was a perfect blend of horror & humour this one leans very much into comedy but with mixed results. Some of it is silly slapstick (the scene on the Eiffel Tower) which often doesn't work, but then there are hilarious scenes too, such as the condom in the cafe gag. The special effects also vary from being reasonable (his 2 undead friends) to awful. The werewolves themselves look my like hairy, wild cavemen. The creatures from Howling 3 were more convincing! The characters are all likeable & there are some great Paris locations (also filmed in Luxembourg). The idea of the creatures being able to turn by injecting a 10ml serum is also an interesting spin. But overall the film is silly & disappointing, nothing more than a cash in on one of the greatest horror movies ever made.

An American Werewolf in Paris (1997): Dir: Anthony Waller / Cast: Tom Everett Scott, Julie Delpy, Vince Vieluf, Phil Buckman, Julie Bowen: Sequel to An American Werewolf in London where three college friends climb the Eiffel Tower only to rescue a woman who jumps. Upon returning her shoe they discover blood on her hands. To say she is a werewolf is obvious but Tom Everett Scott is bitten by another creature. Climaxing with chaos and stupidity director Anthony Waller lightens the violence with humour, particularly during a dinner date where Scott's two friends do unspeakable things with a condom at another table. Scott is appealing as he struggles to figure out this strange woman as well as deal with his own dilemma. Julie Delphy as the werelady is a nice touch particularly during a massive werewolf battle. Vince Vieluf and Phil Buckman play the two friends, one ends up attacked while the other nearly becomes a sacrifice. Julie Bowen has an amusing scene where she attempts to pitch a whistle and only succeeds in knocking her eye out. This is not nearly as good as An American Werewolf in London but the title carries a different meaning. Paris is seen as a sign of romance, which is being mocked within the hairy hysteric climax. This sequel contains a massive production values highlighted with a werewolf battle that big horror film fans will find worth the howl. Score: 7 / 10

Crappy nominal sequel to An American Werewolf in London. It really has nothing to do with that movie besides the similar name and some ripped-off ideas. Pretty shameless cash-grab that thankfully was not well-received. It's a terrible movie with some awful performances, a script I wouldn't wipe my ass with, and some particularly shoddy CGI special effects. Tom Everett Scott has a very unappealing screen presence. I just can't with that guy. Julie Delpy is slumming here but we do get her obligatory topless scene. I don't know the names of the actors playing Scott's buddies. They were generic and forgettable so I won't bother to look them up There's very little time devoted to the werewolves, perhaps due to the poor FX. Most of the time is spent on the lame comedy. Avoid at all costs. A real waste of time.

This one was Universally Panned and rightfully so, because well, there isn't a thing here that is anything short of Embarrassing. The Acting, Comedy, CGI Werewolves, Story, and overall feeling of this Abomination is Atrocious. Here what passes as Funny is blowing up a Condom like Bubble Gum. Just Horrible. It also can be faulted, as if it needed another reason, for Leeching on a Title of a Fan Favorite. Maybe they thought that since the Original was made so many years before that Folks would forget just how Good it was.Missing in this Faker is anything that Monster Maniacs and Teen Terror Seekers want. The Paris setting is also no Help, and except for the Eiffel Tower Sequences it could have been shot on the back lot. Think of the Money they could have saved and put to some good use, like Caring about what went up on the Screen.
