Ben Cronin has it all: the admiration of his many friends, a terrific girlfriend, and he's on the fast-track to an athletic scholarship. Ben's rock-solid, promising future and romance are turned upside-down with the arrival of Madison Bell. Madison, the new girl in town, quickly sets her sights on the impressionable Ben. While their first few meetings are innocent enough, the obsessive and seductive Madison wants more ... much more.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

High school student Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) works hard swimming with a Stanford scout coming. His sweet girlfriend Amy Miller (Shiri Appleby) keeps him away from his checkered past of drug and stealing. He works at the hospital with his single mom. Madison Bell (Erika Christensen) is the new girl in school. She gets on Ben's mind and they have one night in the swimming pool. They agree to stay friends but Madison seems to have something else in mind. Madison befriends Amy and things get uncomfortable for Ben.It's Fatal Attraction for teens. It takes way too long to get going and is far too slow. There is no surprises and no originality in this bland thriller. There is no tension at all. Jesse Bradford is playing a weak character which kind of fits. Erika Christensen has a cold determination and cool demeanor about her. She is definitely beautiful enough to catch anybody's eyes. It is probably a mistake to have cousin Christopher Dante. The point is to isolate Ben till he has nobody to rely on. It's a problem for him to have an ally. There is just nothing special in this movie and the ending is way too convoluted.

I saw swim fan recently and thought it was pretty good,it plays like a teenage version of fatal attraction, good thing this guy did'nt have a pet rabbit, the cast is mostly unknowns at least to me.but the things this girl does are so mean and demented, talk about a woman scorned.the teen lead is a swim champion at his high school, has a pretty good girl girlfriend, and then comes the new girl, watch out shes got major issues. its a shame because shes so attractive, but shes also a demon child.no supernatural stuff here, but there's lots of suspense and melodrama.the only stars i recognized in this sleeper are Dan Hedaya(tightrope)and Jason Ritter(Freddy vs Jason)yes he's the son of the late John Ritter. both of these actors have small supporting roles.as for being a dead on rehash of fatal attraction,it is just that.i have to say i liked it, i would'nt call this a true horror film.it is however good suspense. 8 out of 10,swim fan rocks.

This teenager 'Fatal Attraction' clone has left me torn. I really like the first part where the main character Ben is seduced by Madison; the new kid in town. Although you know straight away that she is going to seduce him you wonder whether Ben is just oblivious to this or that he does know, but that he is young and foolish, and just a man....The plot then unravels nicely and you are sucked into the story big time. Alas halfway the movies quality changes dramatically. Madison becomes from intriguing and scary to pathetic and stupid. The whole story becomes more and more unbelievable as the movie continues, which is a shame really as it started out so nicely. The acting was actually quite good. Madison (Erika Christensen) is perfectly cast as she looks seductive, innocent, bitchy and devilish at the same time. All the other actors are quite good too. In short, not too bad, but could have been a lot better.

Ben Cronin is a high school senior with a troubled past that he's managed to put behind him by making his mark on the swim team. With great natural ability and the support of a loving girlfriend he's looking forward to competing for a prestigious college scholarship, but all that changes when he has a fling with new girl in school Madison Bell, an obsessive sociopath who's fixated on becoming a part of his life whether he wants her to or not. Derivative, teenage recreation of Fatal Attraction is acted well enough by its young and old cast to be watchable, and actually holds your interest for the most part, but haven't we seen all this before? **
