High school graduation just wouldn’t be complete without an un-chaperoned, uninhibited and unforgettable final holiday. At least that’s what Will, Jay, Simon and Neil think when they book a two-week stay on an exotic Greek island. As their dreams of sun-drenched days and booze-filled nights are left hopelessly unfulfilled, the lads fight their way into the party scene with hilariously humiliating results in this smash hit UK raunchy comedy.

I can imagine there are those who have not heard of The Inbetweeners, after all, it has been well hidden away on E4 for its three-series run. However, I can't imagine there are that many people who have seen the show and not enjoyed the film. If you've watched the series, you'll love the film. If you haven't seen a TV episode then I advice you to borrow a DVD from a friend (ask around - someone will have one) and check it out first. And, even if you haven't seen the TV series, this is pretty good fun. I guess its target audience is mainly young men who have lived through those precarious teenage years of uncertainty, drinking and (attempted) womanising. Women seem to enjoy it too - mainly because the four male stars continue to make a fool of themselves. In fact, I don't know any person under 35 who doesn't like it. The only people I've met who don't 'get it' are my mum and a friend's mum. There's a reason it's one of the highest-grossing British comedies of all time and that's because it's pretty damn funny!Basically, it's about four lads who leave school and go on a drunken holiday to the a Greek island (I forget which one). There, they get into all manner of embarrassing scrapes. As it says on the sleeve - think American Pie meets Peep Show. There are plenty of cringe-worthingly bad moments for the stars and expect a fair amount of bad language, nudity and plenty of laughs. Basically, it's like everything that a Richard Curtis movie isn't!I found it like what a 'Carry On...' film might be like if it was written today and the humour carries over from the TV series well - you'll laugh out loud more often than not. It does slow a bit towards the end, but it's definitely more hit than miss. Also, it teaches a guy not to put too much gel in his hair and don't pass out face down on an ants' nest.

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE GOT TOO MUCH TIME IN YOUR LIFE TO WASTE AND ARE LOOKING FOR JOKES DESIGNED FOR KIDS UNDER THE AGE OF 10, THEN GO AHEAD AND WATCH THIS MOVIE. I decided to watch this movie because of its high star rating, as a result I wasted 90 minutes of my life on this horrible 'comedy'.The jokes are extremely lame. The actors' attempts to have awkward conversations with the girls are unnatural which makes it extremely difficult to laugh. For funny awkward conversations with girls, Jonah Hill and Michael Cera do a great job in their movie 'Superbad'.Furthermore, how stupid are Jay and Neil's fighting scenes? Normal human beings do not fight by hugging each other for minutes.

It was possibly the most anticipated film of the year, the TV show had ended and it had been announced that the Inbetweeners would be returning, in a feature length film! The 4 lads had finished school and were now free to do what they please with their time, what else is there to do, other than a lads holiday to Malia! It sounds like it has all the promise to be fantastic doesn't it? It really should have been one of the films of the year, it had all the ingredients, but unfortunately it just felt flat. It's hard to write a review on The Inbetweeners Movie without drawing comparisons to the TV show. This is because the TV show was absolutely faultless (well, the majority of it anyway!). I will list the problems I had with the movie:1) It felt too Hollywood. Too many times in the movie where they went too unrealistic, the great thing about The Inbetweeners was that it was so relatable, it was realistic and above all else, it was original. The movie seems to have too many cliché moments and over the top, slapstick humour, which is not what The Inbetweeners is all about. 2) Too much focus on the girls. The 4 lads spent most of the series chasing girls and managing to fail 99% of the time. In the movie they attract girls within the first night! That's not within keeping of the series! The girls like the lads and the lads keep on messing situations up, surely it should have been the other way round and the lads just be the ones harassing the girls? 3) Not as much crude humour, it felt like a watered down version of the TV show. As I said before the humour felt more slapstick, the crude one-liners and offensive jokes felt kept to a minimum which was a real shame. 4) Felt to Clichéd. The falling out between the lads half way through. The fact Carly keeps popping up throughout the film. The alpha Male club rep. It's all been done far too often in Hollywood comedies and to be honest, it's getting a little tiring now.Don't get me wrong, The Inbetweeners Movie is an enjoyable watch, I have seen it several times and it still amuses me. It's just if you make a direct comparison to the TV show (which is near impossible not to) it just doesn't live up to its reputation. The Chemistry is still there between the 4 lads and the loyalty and friendship is still nice to see.7/10

I am being extremely generous in giving this movie one star out of ten. It was like an overly-extended terrible episode. Don't get me wrong, I love the series, and watched it religiously, but after seeing this movie and then watching re-runs to better my faith in the franchise itself, my love of it went out the window. I can't even describe how horrible this 'movie' is. 1 hour and 37 minutes of pure boredom; dry humor with a lack of laughs, no real storyline, and basically its just Jay saying d*ck, tw*t, p*ssy, w****r, m*ff and other related sex slang. Highlight of the movie: Pussy Patrol shirts. And that gag wasn't even THAT funny. Low point: The entire movie
