It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

PROS: AWAKE had a lot of great qualities to it, but acting would be the trademark for its good qualities. What I liked about the acting was how the characters interacted as the film progressed, this allowed the movie to be dynamic. Each event or issue that occurred had a cause and effect in the meaning of acting, which is talented. The other thing that I really liked was the ending. The last few minutes of the film were by far the best. It provoked the most emotion, and it was the most engaging part of the film. In a mystery movie you really rely on the resolution of the film to be the catch all. The ending should be memorable, with or without the answer, and it should also be able to connect to the rest of the film, this movie did both.CONS: The biggest flaw in this movie would have to be the build up of tension. This film dragged on and on. Although you needed to follow along to enjoy the movie, you also weren't at the edge of your seat while you were following along. There were scenes that made you cringe, some made you scream, and some made your heart beat race, but the proportion from boring scenes to engaging ones was unbalanced.www.chorror.com

one of films too easy to blame. for the performance of Jessica Alba who is far to be brilliant. for Hayden Christian who seems be under the high expectations. for the old theme from classic fairy tales of love between prince charming and Cinderella. but the film has few great virtues who is not fair to ignore, it is a smart thriller. almost an old fashion one. and it gives to Terrence Howard the chance to do a great role. Lena Olin is perfect as the mother. and the best thing is the manner to use a common fear in a fascinating manner. sure, it is not a masterpiece. but it is one of films who impose questions. who surprise. who reminds the taste of real thriller. and who propose to public a complex puzzle and not a picture. it is a film who could be defined as useful. and this is the most important thing.

Stylish and full of surprises, this is one of those movies that make you wonder how people come up with such clever ideas. In this case it is writer/director Joby Harold, and amazingly it looks like this is the only film he has directed so far. Don't pay too much attention to the negative reviews – if this film didn't impress the critics at the time it was released, I don't know what would. The best thing if you haven't seen "Awake" is not to read too much about it beforehand, just let it play and enjoy the surprises as they come.Without giving too much away, the film starts with some ominous statistics, which fade in and out over Graeme Revell's seductive, yet unsettling score. The statistics state that out of 21 million people who receive general anaesthetic each year, 30,000 suffer from anaesthesia awareness – they remain awake, totally paralysed, but are aware of everything. Clay Beresford (Hayden Christensen), a wealthy young man, undergoes a heart transplant. His friend, surgeon Jack Harper (Terrence Howard), performs the operation over the objections of Clay's mother, Lilith (Lena Olin). Just before the operation, and also without his mother's blessing, Clay marries Sam Lockwood (Jessica Alba), his mother's assistant. When the operation commences, Clay discovers that he is one of the unlucky 30,000; he has anaesthesia awareness big time, and to paraphrase a blurb from another movie, 'under anaesthetic, no one can hear you scream'.From that point on, the film goes in unexpected directions. It's a delicious mystery with revelation after revelation.I love the cast although apparently very few of them were the first choice. Lena Olin is just one of those ageless European beauties who hardly has to do anything to get your attention. Jessica Alba is so gorgeous you can't help thinking she was born to make movies; although some are so bad she is about the only reason to watch them. However, that is not the case here, this is a meaty role with quite a few layers to her character. As for Jessica receiving a "Rassie" Worst Actress nomination for her role in "Awake", it's as silly as the fact that she and Hayden Christensen were also nominated for Worst Couple, showing that the "Rassie" panel missed the point entirely as to the meaning of the word couple as it applies to this movie.Apparently the authenticity of some of the procedures shown in "Awake" have been called into question, as have the statistics shown at the beginning of the movie, but I don't think that detracts from the enjoyment of the film; it is definitely one of a kind. If you like a movie with a fresh twist, "Awake" won't disappoint you.

What I liked in this movie:Most of the characters performance and reactions. - The acting staff performance (actors and actresses). - The directing of the movie..very beautiful presentation and appropriate visual views. What I didn't like in this movie:Lot of missing links at the beginning that will appear at the end of the movie..by choosing that timing made me little bored to continue watching. - Plugging the unnecessary scenes and elements (in my point of view) that also caused me giving up and fast forward the movie to skip those scenes at the second time I watched the movie. In overall this movie worth watching for the idea it holds, the beautiful cinematic presentation, and performance of the acting staff.
