High Tension (2005)

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

The acting in this movie is really good.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

This wasn't an awful movie but after seeing all the hype I was let down. It had plenty of gore and at least one unique kill. I kinda saw the plot twist coming but I really hoped that I would be wrong about it. Just a bit disappointed.

I simply loved it!!! normally I hate to subtitles, but it started off so well, it had me at bellow, if you like suspense and end up saying: well, I be famed.... this is a good one to watch subtitles and all. to think I just stumbled across it looking for something else. what a treat.

As the headline suggests, I was really enjoying this. If they'd have only left it out, it would have worked so well. The scenes, as the title suggests, are really high tension moments. The build up till that point is pretty full on and then it happens. From then on I'm constantly trying to work out if that's true how did this happen etc, etc. It's not a bad movie. It just doesn't really add up and they've potentially, in my opinion, ruined what could have been a true classic trying to out sixth sense the sixth sense. A shame really. Was left disappointed.

Alexandre Aja directs a slasher flick that is in abundance of blood,gore and violence in this French film called "High Tension".Cecile De France and Maiwenn star in this movie that tells the story of Alex and Marie's trip to rural Southern France to study when a sudden appearance of a man driving a truck started to wreck havoc to the family of Alex and puts Alex into captivity.Marie hangs on for an opportunity to save Alex.But things become awkward in the end as it was presented that Marie and the killer are one and the same.Despite the much debated possibility of Marie and the killer being the same person,the movie as a slasher flick was definitely entertaining.Viewers who love blood,gore and excessive violence will definitely enjoy this film.As far as the issue of having Marie and the killer as one and the same,I felt that it was clearly presented in the first scene but many people missed it particularly those who were furious about it.But for people who caught it,there should be no issue at all.
