Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992)
Wayne Szalinski is at it again. But instead of shrinking things, he tries to make a machine that can make things grow. As in the first one, his machine isn't quite accurate. But when he brings Nick & his toddler son Adam to see his invention, the machine unexpectedly starts working. And when Adam comes right up to the machine, he gets zapped along with his stuffed bunny.

Why so much hype?
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
The people at Disney are smart when it comes to making money. They knew that when "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" was a real financial success, they could do the opposite thing and it would also bring in more bucks. And it did. However, the story has a big problem, which is mentioned by others. Everything is predicated on a baby, getting to be 100 feet high, reacting to things like a baby would to colors and light and interesting objects. The problem is that the joke gets stale about half way through the movie. When the little big guy becomes a threat, it gets sort of serious. It's up to Wayne to figure something out. If you don't want to use your brain at all, go see this. Otherwise, save a few buck and check out something with a little substance.
Honey I Blew Up The Kid is a decent family movie with an average story line. The movie will definitely entertain a younger audience, but adults watching this movie with their kids will probably be bored, although I will say it isn't a horrible family film, its not the best, but its not the worst. The original,Honey I Shrunk The Kids,is definitely a much better movie for the whole family to watch.Honey I Blew Up The Kid will appeal to very young children, but the older audience will be bored, and fans of Honey I Shrunk The Kids will be disappointed by this sequel.Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis) gets himself into another very difficult situation when a new experiment causes his youngest child keep growing more and more stories tall.
I'll admit that I loved the first movie, "Honey, I shrunk the kids" with Rick Moranis (Ghostbusters) playing the usual dorky self where not only did his machine shrunk his kids along with two neighbor kids, it was quite an adventure without being too cute. In this sequel, it's not about tiny but about large in which this time around Wayne Szalinski (Moranis) has invented a machine to make things bigger than their normal size. His target this time is his newborn toddler Adam where he accidentally gets in the way of an experiment to make himself ten times bigger than Godzilla where he even rocks through Las Vegas and takes a guitar.I didn't like this film one bit where I thought it was too cute to bring in the baby as I wished that maybe somebody would've taken an animal and let them take a bite out of the writers.
Rick Moranis reprises his role as Wayne Szalinski. 2 years after their son and daughter have been shrunk, Moranis decides to bring his son, Nick and their new born baby, Adam into a laboratory that's keeping Moranis' shrinking machine up for testing, but, heads roll when the machine's laser strikes baby Adam causing him to grow at an enormous size. Now, Moranis must restore his baby back to normal size, but, now he realizes that his baby keeps on growing by the electro magnetic force field being carried on by the lights from the local casinos and clubs in Las Vegas. Moranis now needs to get his son to keep still and stop moving, or his rival, Dr. Henderson, will make his son shed his last tear to make his fortune, but, when it comes to sticky situations like this, there's only one person a baby can trust to help him get out of it, his mother.6/10
