Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

Funny People is more dramatic than funny, so if you go into it expecting that then you won't be too disappointed. This movie has a realistic feel to it, but it also drags on a bit too long. I liked it, but I don't know if I'd recommend it to anyone.

Watching Funny People with an attitude blows. It's literally an awesome movie. It's not that super funny, but it is really good and really funny. Its got a lot to offer, a lot of stars. a lot of funny from a lot of funny people, and a lot of heart and a lot of dick talk. Adam Sandler acts as George Simmons who's basically a lot like Adam. George Simmons is a dumb name for a star. It's the George part. Schwartzman's funny and cool. Aubrey Plaza is so freaking hot. Totally forgot this was the first movie I seen her in. The stand up is kind of the best part of Funny People. Aubrey Plaza is so freaking funny. Totally forgot this was this first movie I seen her in. Haha Jonah Hill is hilarious. Aubrey Plaza is so freaking stupid like what is she doing right now? Sandler's outstanding. He seems really bummed. Whatever. Aubrey Plaza makes me happy. Leslie Mann has cute kids. Adam thinks he can really act. I do too. Paul Reiser's touching. This movie was originally called Funny White People until they got RZA from the Wu Tang Clan. Love Norm MacDonald and his talk show is excellent. Dave Attell rules and his old late night comedy central show used to be good. Sarah Silverman is hot and I want to bang her, regardless. The guy from Die Hard is sweet. Wassup, Slim. I love you man. Eminem is my favorite male musician way ahead of James Taylor. F James Taylor. F Ray Romano. Haha Eminem. Marshall is just as funny as the Sandman. Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time. Funny People starts to get boring about an hour and a half in. I'm gonna rewind it and rewatch all the Miss Plaza parts. Adam doing his prank calls is the best. There's Justin Long again. Love Seth Rogen. He's a good dude. Aubrey is so freaking sexy, God, I'm super in to Aubrey. She can do me anytime. Aziz is hilarious. Eric Bana's super solid and super funny. Having cancer isn't too fun let me tell ya.

Hand on Heart, then I wasn't really expecting much from this movie, as I don't really think Adam Sandler is funny anymore, and Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill never were funny. The comedy in "Funny People" was forced and never really got up to a point where it brought about any laughs from me. And as such, then it was a strained ordeal to sit through this movie. The selling point of the movie was Leslie Mann, but despite her appearing in the movie and her good performance, then it wasn't enough to lift up the level of this movie. Not by a long shot."Funny People" seems like a rather pointless movie, and it wasn't particularly memorable. After having seen it, I can now say that the movie will go to the movie shelves and just slowly fade into oblivion. I assume that I was not in the target audience.Fans of Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen or Jonah Hill might get a kick out of "Funny People". Other than that, I can't really see any reason to spend two hours and twenty minutes on this.

The movie feels a little long winded, running at nearly 2 and half hours, and the characters are sad, but interesting. Seeing Adam playing a shadow of himself is certainly a depressing site, and Rogen doing all he can for the man that he admires, since he was a kid, no less, is even better, proving that Rogen isn't a one trick pony, hopefully making this a bit more noticeable for his performance in The Green Hornet next year. The movie also has some great performances from Jason Schwartzman as an actor starring in a horrible television sitcom and Jonah Hill as a competing comedy performer. But there has to be a reason why this movie is ranked so low, and it could almost be said of the running time, but its coming right back to my first paragraph about ironic titles in movies. I suspected a laugh riot, and got mere chuckles. The stand up is hard to enjoy, being very oriented in genitalia humor and sex jokes doesn't make it really funny, just repetitive. And I will be honest: I didn't pay attention to the title business and felt rather disappointed. This is a movie not sitting at the dinner table with all the Apatow produced movies of the last three or four years; like George, he's sitting at his own table, not quite like everyone else.Perhaps now that I've seen the movie for what it truly is, a drama with some funny parts in it, I can now go back and see if maybe I can look at it any differently.
