Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

My daughter says we should give this film one million stars! It is a lovely film about how our lives can change in a flash, and we can learn new things about ourselves. It is about a princess from far away who has to go to stay with her bodyguards family for her own protection. However, she has to pretend that she is not a princess anymore, and just an ordinary girl. she has lots of adventures, some of them are quite funny, some of them very dramatic. This is a good film to teach children moral values. It has some lovely costumes and scenery in it.The story line is very good. There is some good acting in it.

Every time I watch this movie I always think of Princess diaries cause you've got a girl who is a princess she runs away from her country and befriends a girl named Carter(Selena Gomez) and she learns what its like as an ordinary girl. The plot is easy enough to follow but the ending is a bit of a letdown. I saw it on Disney Channel so many times I think it was a nice film suitable for teenagers who are 12 up.Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez star in this fairytale all about friendship and being royal. The cast is OK Selena Gomez was alright and Demi Lovato was a real princess. The music is average and the whole story is a bit like Cinderella meets princess diaries in a way. If you have any one who loves fairy tales and who likes DCOM's then I suggest that you should see it.I'll give it a 6/10 as it was a decent flick with an OK message.

Adults be warned: if you don't have kids, or if you don't enjoy yourself when they do, then you need not watch this movie. If you want to feel young again, go watch Star Trek or something. This is Disney in its lightest form, without pain, just some bullying at most. This goes for the school environment as well as for the international political environment. Sure, Mr. Evil himself is about as scary as the lion Alex in Madagascar. He did a good job though, learning from cartoon characters, which I'm sure is a Disney trademark. Also, don't focus on the international part. I speak both French and Spanish, and it hurts me to see them massacred so much. On the other hand, it makes me think I'd make excellent royalty. Apart from the caring part, that is.The acting is not as bad as described by others. Actually, everybody seems to be having a good time, hoping it wears off to the audience. It works, sometimes. I liked the camera-work, the attention paid to dressing details, the displays of dignity and style. Also, when I said that it was a light movie, I also meant that there's no scenes at night. Vampires abstain.Nah, it's not like this movie is advisory entertainment, but when they throw all these kid musicals on your plate, it's nice to have something else for dinner. But, again, be in the right mood, or with the right (very young) people.

I though this movie was decent. A good heart warming story but really over done. The four biggest let downs for me were:1. i though that it would have more action, sword fights something! it was oh a sword threw her crown, carters dad pushes some guy down, and they run away. yep pretty boring.2. since i live in Louisiana i had hopes of seeing some places I've been in this movie. As i watched this movie the more evident that it wasn't shot in Louisiana. ex: we don't have mountains in Louisiana, and that may palm trees, and u cant live that close to a swamp. Then my friend told me that it was shot in Puerto Rico. i was disappointed in that.3.the movie was really predictable. oh a princess gets assassinated , goes to school like a normal kid, fits in better then the girl who has been there most of her life, has 2 be prom queen(in this case homecoming, which no one really cares about), wins, and the bad guy finds her. 4. i didn't think that Cane guy was that evil. i was like dude read the evil guy hand book! his character was pretty stupid.I'm the kinda girl who likes the villains more than the heroes most of the time. i though the acting was decent but it lacked sparkle. and it kinda dragged on.i don't think Selena and demi work well together, it was kinda awkward to see them act together. i probably would never watch this movie again. And i had high hopes for this movie.
