The premise follows a wacky con artist targeted by a heartless hunter after purposely accepting an offer to remain alive in exchange for money. Knowing that, the film immediately shows potential to be darkly humorous and original. However, the biggest mistake this movie commits to is remaining outrageously weird, frenetic, and brainless with its material. There's more scenes pervasively pursuing lowbrow humor, stereotypes, and utter annoying nonsense. The main "protagonist" also insists contradicting his safety by obtaining more enemies and never remaining in an undisclosed location. Other characters, minor and important, are either underutilized or useless. From its beginning to its end, it's an elongated silly disaster with no redeeming qualities even for audiences with less expectations. It's restrained by its nonstop crassness, disinteresting and disposable subplots, and uncommitted premise that doesn't lead anywhere clever until the end. It's equivalent to a poorly developed cartoon turned into an expensive stage performance with no effort or adjustments. The Pest is an insect that must be permanently exterminated.

Only watched this to see Joe Morton in an early role and honestly wished I hadn't bothered, he can and has since, done much better than this crap. Cannot understand why anyone finds this kind of stupidity funny but each to his own; it is an absolute mess and not funny in the least. No wait, ONE line only was funny, where Mr Kent (Joe) and his family are having dinner with this nut job as he's been invited for dinner (Lord alone knows why). Pest to Mr Kent: You know what it's like dog, you've been there Mrs Kent: Not lately, Joe's expression was funny but that's it one line does not make a great comedy and this tat is so far away from being funny it should be consigned to the nearest trash cart, it's only good enough for that. Joe Morton - glad to see you don't appear in rubbish like this anymore; you are far superior and a great great actor.

I received this as a Christmas present. I thought this movie was incredibly hilarious. It reminded me a lot of a story I read in high school called 'The Most Dangerous Game'John Leguizamo is wacky and crazy through the entire film. Leguizamo plays a sneaky, but lovable con-artist named Pestario Vargas, but everyone calls him 'Pest' He is tricked into being hunted down on a private Island by a racist German named Gustav. If Pest survives for 24 hours, Gustav will give him $50,000. When Pest escapes the Island, Gustav and his homosexual son continue to hunt him down in the city. Pest uses many disguises in order to stay alive, If you love silly zany comedies, you'll love THE PEST!!!

I actually liked this movie I just bought it a few days ago I admit that the fart jokes are pretty bad and embarrassing to watch. That aside this is a great movie to sit down and watch on a late Friday night. I think that the characters are fantastic I love Himmle, Ninja, Pest, Chubs, Scotish Mob, and just about everybody else. At a few points in the movie I think it moves a little fast but it adds to the off the wall humor that I really enjoy. Some of Johns impressions are a little stupid but for the most part I actually enjoyed them such as The delivery boy at the beginning of the movie. Also how can you not like Chubs and Ninja? They are very lovable characters that really add to the story. Overall the story seems a little rushed sometimes and half the time I think that the characters should just pop in saying "What the plot holes going on here!?" But it's still a great movie and I think you can enjoy it lots if you just sit back get some snacks and hit play.
