Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

I has seen a few films starring the former wrestler turned movie star, apart from The Mummy Returns and Welcome to the Jungle, most had been terrible, but I gave this one a chance, from director Andy Fickman (She's the Man). Basically NFL football quarterback Joe Kingman (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) is a star on the pitch, a single bachelor, and a little self centred with love for Elvis Presley, but more for himself. His life is about to change when little eight year old Peyton Kelly (Madison Pettis) comes knocking on his door, and tells him that she is his daughter from a marriage to Sara (Kathryn Fiore) that ended years ago, and has a birth certificate to prove it. As he tries to get used to the concept of having a long lost daughter, he reveals her to the press and public, but his agent Stella Peck (Kyra Sedgwick) thinks this revelation is going to be a distraction for both his image and game play. After clearing his image, Andy goes along with Peyton to a ballet class run by the gorgeous Monique Vasquez (Rush Hour 2's Roselyn Sanchez), and practising some moves for a stage performance, which he originally refuses, they really bond. After a disagreement and forgiveness, Andy gets to hang out more with Monique and they bond well too, while his team, The Boston Rebels, have made it to the championship game, and if they win he will get a $25 million restaurant endorsement. However, after a successful stage performance, things between Peyton and her father change when she reveals she ran away, she has an allergic reaction to some nuts, and at the hospital Andy's former sister-in-law and Peyton's legal guardian Karen (Paige Turco) shows up to take his daughter back. She tells him Peyton's mother Sara died in a car crash six months ago, and Andy is all alone again, and at the start of the championship game he can only think of his daughter. His mood is changed however when Peyton arrives with Karen to encouragement him, and he bucks himself up, and in the end Andy and the team win the championship, and he refuses an endorsement, sticking with his daughter instead. Also starring Boyz n the Hood's Morris Chestnut as Travis Sanders, Hayes MacArthur as Kyle Cooper, Brian J. White as Jamal Webber, Jamal Duff as Clarence Monroe, Gordon Clapp as Coach Mark Maddox and Tubbs as Spike the dog. Johnson is both funny and admirable as the originally up himself but nicer father figure, Pettris is adorable as the daughter he never knew about before, the film does have the smallest predictable moments, but the light hearted laughs and sentiment does work, a likable family sports comedy. Worth watching!

So I decided to watch The Game Plan after hearing many good reviews about it when it came out. I forgot about this film and suddenly got it rented and shipped to me to watch. Now first of all I like the Rock and think that he will have a long career ahead of him. But I feel that this movie was somewhat a mistake for him. I wouldn't recommend this to any adult, unless they have a bunch of children and would watch it with them. There is nothing about this film that is original or clever. It has all the same clichés that all sorts of these truly dumb films have. It is really predictable and we see the Rock make a fool of himself in this film. The script is really stupid, the acting is atrocious, and all of the Rocks football teammates are completely unbelievable and pointless. I was not only embarrassed of how bad this was, but embarrassed for anyone involved in this garbage. The plot was really weird. Its about the Rock realizing that he has and 8 year daughter after she comes to his doorway one night. Then things take off from there, and the Rock's character Joe Kingman is a pro football player looking to win a title, while is daughter Peyton is a ballet dancer. Of course like all Disney movies there's the conflicts and problems, and a happy ending. There is no difference in this film. This goes to show that families are desperate to see something they can take their kids to, even though the parents are at a loss for words as to why this is funny to them. I wouldn't recommend this to adults, its more of a kids film.

Dwayne Johnson plays Joe Kingman, an unbelievably rich football player who has everything a rich football player could want: Money, expensive furniture, and even a bulldog named Spike. If you were him, you would be living in heaven. But then you would be living in Hell if you found out that you had a daughter who just happened to show up on your doorstep.Talk about scary.Just like any other movie about a man who finds out that he has a daughter, their relationship doesn't always go according to plan. But as the movie continues, the relationship spreads and soon they all live happily ever after. 'The Game Plan' is a funny and touching movie with a great performance by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.he really should consider doing more family movies. He's a natural.

Dwayne Johnson is "The Rock" in this movie being selfish and absolutely absorbed by himself till he find that he is a father. He a very successfully American football player who thinks he rocks and has everything he needs in his life but something will change that dramatically. Madison Pettis plays little Peyton the eight year old daughter of Joe Kingman the football player, she is a cute kid who sparks the movie. A very nice family movie that you should watch, Johnson does his play pretty well i really like him as a actor because he can be funny and action remind me of Arnold somehow. The spice is added by the a school teacher ballerina played by Roselyn Sanchez that lecture Kingman how to be a real father. The movie is about a father that doesn't know that he had a daughter but he doesn't know also that he likes it and can be a very good and loving father. Johnson show that can be emotional when a little drama drops in the movie but well is well when ends with a happy end. I recommend this movie because is entertaining and have a nice feeling about it so if you want to be a away from those bad crimes, horror and action movie this is the perfect escape.
