It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Even tho Brake is shot inside a car for almost the whole movie except the last 10 minutes it keeps you entertained by the strong performance of it's lead as the film goes on you learn more things about the plot and how the story involves and what our lead character is doing who by the way is an agent for the government. But here is the problem the movie falls apart at those final 10 moments when you think he's going to die and it turns out to be a freaking joke i'm not saying that it's a bad film cause it's pretty good it has a good cast, OK acting and a simple plot but the ending feels so bad like it was written by a 7 year old. Great Movie with one of the worst endings ever even worse than I Am Legend.

A government agent with a gambling problem is locked in a box in the trunk of a car, terrorists want to know the location of a secret base where the president will be and are going to keep him boxed up till they get it. It's kinda a action movie in a car trunk, if that makes any sense. This kinda has and interesting premise, and had some potential, but sadly it just never seems to realize it. Stephen Dorff is good for what he has to work with, and it has a few OK moments, but the twist ending seemed dumb and clunky, which just made the whole thing leave a bad taste in my mouth, cinematicly speaking. 2 Beards Out Of 5

Steven Dorff plays secret service agent Jeremy Reins who suddenly awakes, confused in a back of a car, entombed in some sort of perspex case. He has no idea where he is or how he got there. There is a red light shining on him and a digital clock counting down. When it reaches zero, it resets with another countdown but something happens in between.Dorff who looks like a thinner Kiefer Sutherland certainly reminds you of the television series 24. Dorff who first fears he has been kidnapped because of gambling debts realised that there are other people kidnapped as well and he can communicate with them via CB radio, he fears for the safety of his ex wife and realises that the people holding want information on the hiding place of the President in the event of an emergency evacuation. He faces various tests including torture as the clock keeps counting down. What is happening, who wants the information, who can he trust or is this all some sort of psychological test, this is certainly an intriguing low budget B movie. The focus is mainly on Dorff, trapped in the trunk of a car, bathed in red light and he certainly holds your attention whilst many of the other actors are voices on the phone, radio or people in the car. It is an unusual, tense film that does not outstay its welcome and destined to be a cult film.

I watched this movie despite reading reviews that the ending ruined the whole film. I hoped the reviews were wrong - unfortunately they weren't. The story and Agent Jeremy Reines situation is gradually explained to us. Much like the film Buried. The first 80 minutes are genuinely tense, with some great acting by the under-rated Stephen Dorff. However, all the build-up, all the time and emotions invested are totally let down by the wholly far-fetched and unbelievable ending. Not to mention, every actor in this who is not Stephen Dorff sucked royally. This was a great 80-minute film and a horrendous 90-minute one. For a much better use of concept, if not slightly more depressing, watch Buried with Ryan Reynolds.
