Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

A good, old fashion movie; a rarity! Ben Affleck, George Carlin, Liv Tyler, and let Raquel Castro did a good job. The plot is simple and predictable but I enjoyed it. Bring it on!

Considering many people told me good about this picture, I decided giving it a chance. For the first twenty minutes, it seemed to be an okay flick, since we had a reasonable plot and a possibly moving storyline. However, after the Will Smith thing, everything went downhill; that scene felt extremely implausible, given that NO ONE in the world would act that way. After that, we had the absurd 7 years of absence thing-- which man on EARTH would stay 7 years without sex?? Only in movies! Besides, would a handsome dude like Ben Affleck's character have to work as a garbage collector? Wouldn't exist a thousand better options for him, like being a model or something? Also, the "I Hate You" scene felt as cheesy as the other I mentioned. The performance thing was just corny as well. To be honest, I'm being very sweet in giving it five stars; maybe that's due to the eventual good acting coming from Ben Affleck and the relatively good message the movie (tried to) put across.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! It made me cry more then once. I didn't expected to move me the way it did. Ben Affleck's acting was awesome. I could feel his pain. The little girl was my favorite, she was so endearing. I wish more fathers were like Ben Affleck's character. The story line was so sad but at the same time so LIFE like. Things happen in this world that we cannot get over and it caries on no matter how long it has been. I cant say enough good things about this movie. It's funny and fun. charming and full of family warmth. Awesome movie. You must watch it! I cant believe I went all this years without watching it.

Good God this movie really sucks, Afleck as usual is terrible, with his over-sized head and over-sized nose. There is very little in this movie to recommend, in fact it is awful.Ben's acting is his usual wooden plank of wood style, the story is almost as lame as Ben.It is a pity he didn't invite that other useless pice of trash Adam Sandler to the movie where with a bit of luck they could both have been burned alive.Afleck should carry a health warning - everything this hook beaked creature makes is TOXIC!
