The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

I just have a hobby re-watch old-timers. compared the technology and other scripts that time it is pretty good. Only music is bit boring sometimes even annoying for me. Even the story quiet simple if I am trying to compare similar movies from 80s it still can take the attention, for me 8/10, I recommend anyone who don't care much about the CGI but like sci-fi, this will give you joyful hour.

this movie is very underrated i think the acting was great and the story line was very good, i find the special effects ahead of it's time. I think a war film with time travel, is very good, i usually hate love stories but i think it was kind of cool the way it was done 2 people from different times he is actually going to become the oldest person in the planet if we think about it . If you are into sci-fi films, then I recommend this film for shore and I'm gonna watch this film allot of times again in the future. Nancy Allen's performance is on top, such great acting. i can't wait to have this movie in a home video format VHS or DVD it's a must have in my DVD or VHS collection

The Philadephia Experiment is a decent time travel/action film with some romance thrown in for the ladies, which I often don't really like, but since it's Nancy Allen, I won't complain. Ms. Allen had a nice run of sci-fi and horror films in the 1970s and 1980s starting with the original Carrie(as the meanest of the tormentors of Carrie White even if most the "tennage" cast for that film were already a bit too old) on to some other classics, Strange Invaders, the Robocop series, and so on. I missed the in-joke here about her character's name "Allison Hayes," who was a gorgeous 1950s sci-fi and horror scream queen. The film itself is based on the possibly-true experiment to "cloak" naval ships during World War Two; differing versions exist of the experiment, but it at least seems possible. All sides were trying to develop secret weapons during the conflict.Anyway, Michael Pare' plays David, one of two sailors tossed into then-present year 1984 where another try at the same experiment is proving to be a really bad idea. He becomes involved with Allison fairly-quickly, and they go through several near-fatal adventures before he agrees to go back in time, and try to set everything right then, and in the 1980s. The conclusion seems to have been designed for the sake of the "romance" crowd, but all in all, this is a decent enough film which works on several levels, I think. For those interested, a good deal of material is available from various sources on the Experiment. Meantime, I can certainly recommend this movie to sci-fi fans easily enough, or fans of Ms. Allen, of course.

"The Philadelphia Experiment" may not be a classic, but I really enjoy sci-fi time travel flicks like this. The plot is a clever one, and director Raffill propels it at a good pace, always keeping the viewer interested. The film never outstays its welcome. The special effects crew have fun, although their offering is fairly tame compared to what we've seen in the last fifteen years. Michael Pare is the perfect unaffected hero, and it is surprising his star didn't rise higher than this. As his rescuer and best girl, Nancy Allen does well too. I wonder what became of her.Friday, January 7, 2000 - Video
