Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Tom (Patrick Dempsey) and Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) are college friends. He's a womanizer with lots of rules, and she's willing to call him out for it. Ten years later, she's still the only one he can take to yet another one of his father's (Sydney Pollack) wedding no matter how many girls he's dated. He discovers his love for Hannah a little too late. This is the standard paint by numbers rom-com. The problem is that neither are exceptional rom-com leads. Neither are physical comedians. Neither have shown a strong background in this genre. Patrick Dempsey takes some pratfalls, but it doesn't work for him. The only thing that truly works is an angry bridesmaid Busy Philipps. So an outstanding script is needed to elevate this. But there isn't one coming. There are a few funny moments. The glow in the dark beads are funny. The biggest problem is that Hannah's Colin isn't douchy enough. It would work if he made all kinds of threats against Tom behind Hannah's back. They don't make him bad enough. The emotional structure isn't set up properly.

This movie follows a well known formula: a guy and girl are friends, she meets someone to marry, he realizes that he loves her and tries to get her back.A lot of movies in this genre uses such formulas. What can make them good movies are original elements added to it that make those movies more unique.Made of Honor just seems to follow formulas and fail with anything else. It seems that whoever was writing for it was being very lazy. There is already the title, wth is Made of Honor? Is made somehow a male equivalent of maid? No. So is Tom "made of honor"? How is that, the guy wants to ruin a wedding in sneaky ways, this has nothing to do with honor. I really don't expect characters in such movies to behave honorably of course, but the whole world play is useless. And I really fail to see why Hannah fell that strongly for Colin. Not that he is bad looking or a bad guy,but apparently they were so different that it makes it hard for me to get why she was so madly in love that she agreed to get married pretty much right away.Just as confusing are the reasons for why she didn't want to be with him. So he hunts? I understand that not everyone would date a hunter, I personally wouldn't. But what did she think was on her plate before she found out that Colin killed it? A cauliflower? It just makes no sense for me, if I HAD to eat meat I would rather choose the deer that lived in the wild and was killed by a hunter than a cow that lived a tortured life in a factory farm and had her throat sliced in a slaughter house. Some will hate my review for that comment, but I just had to point out how this part of the movie made absolutely no sense to someone who cares for animals as the main character was supposed to.And what the hell is it about Tom getting on a horse to get to the wedding faster? Are horses really that much faster than cars? And while we are rooting for Tom and Hannah to get together as we are used to in such movies (while we also know that they definitely will), it is hard to be very happy for them at the wedding, because Colin really has done nothing for us to hate him and be happy that his wedding got ruined in such a cruel way.I also have trouble understanding the reason for the character played by Kevin Sussman, the weird looking basketball guy. Comedy doesn't have to always be kind. Like I didn't worry much about the fat friend on a diet jokes, but this is because her friends really did like her and she ended up getting into her size 8 dress at the end. The basketball guy was just treated badly for no reason, which makes no sense after high school, got nothing positive and was completely useless to the story. What is good about this movie and in a way saves it are the beautiful scenery, acting skills of the actors and their great chemistry. The kiss of Hannah and Tom during that bar hopping night was absolutely wonderful. Definitely one of the best kisses in romantic comedies. This definitely is a little pearl (or glow in the dark thunder bead?) of this movie. So I will give it a 6/10. Because even though there was so much wrong with it, I still didn't hate it thanks to the actors and some funny jokes.

Made of Honor is a romantic comedy film that stars Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan together with Kevin McKidd,Kathleen Quinlan and Sydney Pollack in his last film role. The story was about a handsome and successful bachelor is taken aback when his dream girl asks him to be the "maid" of honor in her upcoming wedding. The screenplay was written by Adam Sztykiel,Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. It was directed by Paul Weiland. Tom and Hannah have been best friends for years. Though all the hard times, Hannah has been the one constant in Tom's life, and the one person he knows he can always rely on. When Hannah leaves for a six-week business trip in Scotland, Tom is surprised to realize how truly lonely he is without her. Life just isn't the same without Hannah around, so the moment she returns, Tom resolves to ask for her hand in marriage. But apparently Hannah's trip wasn't all business, because upon returning home Hannah announces that she has gotten engaged to a dashing Scotsman and will soon be starting a new life overseas. She's convinced that Tom will be thrilled for her, and wants him to play a crucial role in the wedding. His spirits crushed but his love for Hannah stronger than ever before, Tom reluctantly agrees to be the "maid" of honor so that he can prove his love in no uncertain terms and convince her to call off the wedding before true happiness slips through his fingers.Too bad that there is nothing original about Made of Honor. It is something that we have already seen many times in a romantic comedy that it has become a very tired and familiar love story. It has a plot that's recycled, inane, and unbelievable. And lastly,a preposterously lazy finale. What's worse, the good performances of the leads - Dempsey and Monaghan can't save this forgettable and formulaic film from its comic failings.

The theme of the movie Made of Honor is portraying that finding true love is not always right there in front of you, sometimes you have to fight for what you want. Finding true love is an obstacle for anyone but for Tom there are many things that try to get in his way but he doesn't let it. This movie shows you different ways that you can show affection and make best friends in the process. The story begins when two friends, Hannah and Tom, meet back up since they had graduated from high school. They get to know each other again and decide to remain best friends. After having dinner, they go out more often doing casual things such as going to the grocery store, getting flowers and shopping, but Hannah does all this knowing that Tom has a problem with commitment when it comes to the ladies. During all this time that Hannah spends with Tom she starts to develop feelings for him.As Hannah goes on a trip for her job in England, she meets a guy named Colin, who she falls madly in love with. When Tom goes to meet Hannah at the airport, thinking that he is going to get to tell her how much he loves her, she brings Colin to meet him and all her family. Tom doesn't know what to feel at this point in time. He knows that the chance of him ever getting to let her know how he really feels about her has just gone away. But he knows that for her sake he better put a fake smile on that face and be happy for her.Tom then decides that he needs to find out more about Colin, so he invites him to play a game of basketball with him and his buddies. Colin doesn't have very good luck at the game of basketball until he decides that he needs to show these guys how to play a real game. Colin then starts shooting slam dunks and shocking Tom and all the guys. During the game, Tom comes to the realization that Colin really does love Hannah and as long as she is happy that is all that matters. Hannah then wants Tom to be her Made of Honor. Tom doesn't know what to think but how in the world could he say no, this would be the perfect chance to spend more time with her and be right there for whatever she might need. Then, one of the bridesmaids that Hannah picks has to be one of the girls that Tom had a one night stand with so this should be quite the obstacle. After helping Hannah with all the wedding stuff, Tom goes to England where the wedding is going to be held at. He had already decided that he would never get to be with Hannah so he jumps in the bed with one of the bridesmaids and what do you know if Hannah didn't catch him with her while she was coming to tell Tom that she loved him too.Now Tom knew that it was over between Hannah and him and that there definitely would be no chance since Hannah had just seen his true colors. Tom decides to leave but with the good advice of Hannah's mother and all his friends he turns around and heads to the wedding, hoping that it's not too late. Tom jumps on a horse and rides away to go to the church. By the time that Tom makes it they hadn't said I do yet, so he rushes in and says "Hannah you can't do this", Tom is shaken up a bit by the drastic entrance he had made to the church, so when Hannah said "Tom are you okay?" He knew that she really still did care. Tom rises up and they both kissed. Tom and Hannah lived happily ever after. Even though Tom had a hard time fighting for his true love they both knew what each other wanted the whole time.A movie that portrays the same theme as Made of Honor is The Notebook. Made of Honor portrayed several different techniques such as camera angles and a zoom lens. These two techniques were used in two different scenes. The camera angle that was used is the high-angle shot. This is when the camera is shot high above eye level. This was done when the scene of England started. To get the full affect of the country, the camera angle had to be high enough to catch the full view. The other technique that was used is the zoom lens. This is when a series of lenses that keep an image in constant focus. This took place when Hannah was getting ready for her wedding. The camera just stopped on her so that the audience could see exactly what is portrayed as an England Wedding.
