When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.

The mini-series Angels in America is a story of epic proportions, the playwright re-written into a screenplay by the original writer Tony Kushner, has multiple stories connecting through the deadly disease of AIDS, takes them on a journey of discovery through hallucinations of angels. The entire cast give a stunning performance, with actors like Meryl Streep, Jeffrey Wright, Justin Kirk and Emma Thompson playing up to two to three roles, giving the film that extra little bit of magic. Each character has a story that we follow through out, with every character relating in someway to sexuality, following confusion, acceptance and frustration. On top of it all is the wonderful score by Thomas Newman, who scored such films as "American Beauty" and "The Shawshank Redemption", Newman takes you on a magical flying carpet ride through a world of almost cinema, giving the television series a strong beating heart that will stay with you for a long time. The story is in 6 chapters rolled over in two 3 hour episodes, which gives the series a triumphant legacy, as a part of HBO's outstanding library of film, television and documentaries. This is truly a major milestone in cinematic history and should be recognized for it sheer emotion and storytelling.

Were do I start... To keep things generic, the story and screenplay adaptation is excellent, great directing, editing and music with an artistic feel all the way through. This would have almost been worthless if it had a bad cast, but it wasn't - it's actually one of the best casts I've ever seen in a movie/mini series and a lot of them play more than one role.I remember I actually knew nothing about this and it was 2010 I watched it, it's because I came across it whilst looking through some of the casts film(s) and didn't even know what it was about. As I started watching it the "subject matter" was a little much for me at first, because I am a straight guy but not homophobic, but I thought I would be mature about it and give it a chance and I am damn glad I did because I couldn't stop watching, I remember I stuck it on late at night and watched it all the way through until early hours in the morning. In short this is overall incredibly well done definitely watch it. Very well done 10/10

I don't know where to start to be truthful, maybe the film does have a genius story, and the casting was great (yes, i agree on that), but, somewhere i got lost. I actually don't think i understand the story, i didn't understand what the characters were supposed to act. I was bored since the 10th minute of the film, and its a huge one, a real damned torture to watch it, that i actually couldn't watch the second part. What do you people appreciate at this movie? Cause i only appreciated the actors, but that's not enough to satisfy me. Someone told me this is better then "Band of Brothers", to hell with you ! If you're gay, you are nuts and think that movies about politics are interesting, watch it, otherwise do yourself a favor and stay as far as possible from this piece of trash. I can't believe pacino made part of this garbage !

Its amazing how such a boring, ridiculous and unimaginative story has attracted such a high profile cast. The characters lack depth, the surreal sequence of scenes lacks any discernible storyline to the point were even the sad parts of it turn out unintentionally humorous.Furthermore the movies outlook on future events give away its limited, childish view of the world. The shock and awe of some scenes combined with the immature stereotypes that should have better been spared leaves any viewer scrambling for a message or intelligent spark with nothing to do but shake ones head.Instead of a time period, the movie depicts a small minds view biased by a specific mindset and fails to grasp the spirit of that era by pushing this immature and unobservant point of view on its audience. If you could (insert utterly boring task here) instead, do it. Your time is better spent than watching this movie.
