This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

I really like Diane Kruger, but Monica Bellucci in the original is terrific. It's certainly not a coincidence that the name of the restaurant in Wicker Park where Josh Hartnett overhears Diane Kruger's conversation is named Bellucci's!! That's real respect. The french version is full of comedy, this American remake has next to none. It's worth getting a copy of "Le Apartment" if you enjoy this.

I didn't know much about Josh Hartnett until I caught a part of Bunraku, that's one strange movie but I liked the way he played in it, so I tried this one out. I was initially intrigued, it is sort of a romantic Pulp Fiction with the flashbacks, but the bottom line was I didn't really connect with anyone in this except for Rose Byrne, who was just fantastic in the only good role. Kruger was sort of one dimensional, don't know if that's her or the script, she certainly shined better in National Treasure. And Hartnett just sort of mopes through the entire movie, again not sure who's to blame, him the script or both. The backdrop of the Wicker Park area of Chicago was very cool, but that wasn't quite enough to carry this murky, uninvolving romantic drama.

"When your mind becomes obsessed with anything, you filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere." © Pi (1998)The film is perfect! This is the most exciting film about love. I am ashamed that I had looked so late. I love detective stories. And when they are still developing on the basis of relations - is priceless. The entire film keeps you on your toes. Much credit for this soundtrack. Not often the music in the film bounces in memory, but here is stored everything from introductory Stereophonics - Maybe Tomorrow and ending Coldplay - The Scientist. It is very interesting how the film was shot. We see the fragments of memories, first one character, then another, and all this combined with no less interesting picture of the present. I recommended to fans for original romantic stories.Today it is my favorite movie about love. Writing about it is difficult, even more so that I may be a little naive, but I think it perfect. In the first place - because of the swirling extraordinary story, which was interesting to watch, interesting to guess the riddle that.Second - because of the divinely beautiful and talented Josh Hartnett and Diane Kruger, who, in my opinion, constituted one of the most harmonious couple in movie history.Third - because of the wonderful game Rose Byrne, who, despite all the twists and turns of the plot, too, makes us to some extent empathize and sympathize her.Fourth - because of the unique atmosphere, woven from the soundtrack, great camera work and the overall style of the film.Well, in the fifth - because of the extraordinary passionate love story. This is film you want to watch again and again. First, to clarify for all the details of what is happening, to place on the scene, which are scattered throughout the film. And then - just to enjoy the atmosphere, the beauty of the people, music, staff .. I'm doing punctually last 2 years.Josh Hartnett as always great! These movies just for him. The love story twisted abruptly than Shakespeare. At first there was nothing clear and even a little boring. However, lethargy soon gave way to a thirst to know what will happen next. And then to open all new and new details, fueling interest. And most importantly, to me personally, this film shows is absolutely not predictable. I usually guess how the story will turn on, but not in this case. What could be more dangerous love triangle? It destroys lives and fate of three people and rarely leads even to something good. Basically a love triangle - it tears and grief, and rarely get a happy ending ... But it turns out, there is a love square...And it is in this square get Matthew, Lisa, Alex and Luke. And to help the main characters out of the situation can only be sincere and deep love, which is good, is present in their hearts, and helps to overcome all the trials which, I must say, oh how is not easy! I immerse yourself in such a tremendous atmosphere of love and loss, happiness and suffering.Wicker Park - it is an obsession - a movie about intrigue. Alex begins to intrigue right from the start. She has done everything so clearly and correctly that the viewer who saw the situation in the first part of the film through the eyes of Matthew understands that he simply does not have a chance of a happy ending, but Matt does not give up, that does him honor. The viewer thinks that this obsession of love will not to anything good, it will all end very sad, perhaps he would go mad from the senses, but no! It due to his quest Matt and Lisa are reunited, and two hearts, get all what so long dreamed of.I'm not really a professional to judge the acting and the work of the director. I just like the film. For ingenious plot and casting! The film with mysteries and unexpected responses in its atmosphere. But Wicker Park, for me, definitely deserves a higher valuation! A great movie. Wonderful acting. The plot makes frantically to think what will happen in the end. After watching the aftertaste remains, the thoughts that do not come out of your head. This is the most remarkable. Thank all for this masterpiece!I watched the movie several times, and each of my view ends in tears. These are tears of happiness and charm. Great movie, good acting and strong plot - nothing disappointed. I can confidently say that he is one of my favorite movies.

I watched the original French movie on a long haul flight in 1997 when I was 11 (captain's pick). I was so confused yet so intrigued when you know what became popular in the early 2000's I looked and found it again on my campus sharing network. The original made me a fan of French movies, of Monica Bellucci. I was also old enough to understand Max's choice in the end. And i was extremely intrigued with a movie that DARED to tear lovers apart. (I guess It's still a forbidden concept in America). Reading the comments here, I think the vast majority do not realize Wicker Park was a remake. It's not 'unique', it's not a 'never before seen concept', its just a remake of all those things. But I dare say it failed. For one the ending was completely changed. Which makes the movie predictable just like the rest. It took away the element of reality, that men actually have the ability to make judgement and not be led by love and obsession. I guess I prefer movies that tell the truth, like woody allen's Match Point, where people do get away with murder. In this sense, this movie took a great classic, made it Hollywood to appease the audience's appetite, but at the meantime destroyed the delicate relationships that intrigued in the original. More and more great modern Europeans movies are being remade in the US, please people, do your homework and at least give the original concept a try before the remake, you will be surprised.
