Beyond Borders (2003)

Slow pace in the most part of the movie.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Has anyone that raved about this movie ever been to Ethiopia. It sucks. We should not waste any time watching trash that tries and fails to get empathy and sympathy out of people in The United States of America. Our lives are not to worry or even affect other countries. They know SIN as much as we do. Yet this movie is about two Adulterers who believe the grass is greener. It lost $29 million at the theater. Netflix, only showing poorly taken movies, of course rants about how great it is. No, it is not. If any of it was based even a tiny bit on reality, that divorce and adultery are wrong, and that it hurts all of those around you, then you'd think twice. But, Hollywood has to show adultery time and time again. It's becoming the primary sub-theme to every movie produced. Angelina Jolie put on the most horrible performance ever. All the others in this film were so pathetic as real actors and actresses. I really wish I could sue the Director and Producer. This movie is pure fantasy, for those in the world that are so lost, they don't know God or Jesus at all. Show this in the middle east, and they would burn it. What a terrible waste of time.

When I first saw this I teared up at how real it was. I wish that it made it to the cinemas. Angelina Jolie does a good job at pulling off her role it some what resembles the work she does in real life, I was very impressed. I really wish films like this would be made more often to open people up about whats really going on in the world. 6.0 stars! thats really sad, this film should have at least earned 7.5. The scenes in Africa make me cry. I was captivated until the very end, and not disappointed. Although its rated R I really recommend this film many ages main thing cursing, Clive Owen's part but it really is a powerful movie for all ages.

I loved this film. It reminded me of emotionally-stirring epics from past eras -- Dr. Zhivago, Gone With the Wind, Lawrence of Arabia. Perhaps that's why the cynical and heartless critics trashed it ... the romance is old fashioned, idealistic and pure; the characters are not addicted to alcohol, drugs or senseless shopping; there are no grunting sex scenes. The violence has a point. And yes, Angelina's character always looks too fashionably good and clean and gorgeous to be true to the horrific circumstances she finds herself in.It's a weeper, for sure. An eye-opener for the ignorant, uninformed and uncaring consumers of modern capitalism. A call to arms. Definitely not a typically pointless 21st Century American movie. Thankfully, Oliver Stone didn't get to direct.See it. Take out your handkerchiefs and your cheque books. This film might actually change your life.

The movie ran on local TV. I noticed it after the dialogs that caught attention. I began to watch and felt ashamed to go to sleep. I missed its title and came here to find out more.Stories in books, theater stage, or on screen usually don't go further than reflecting facets of individuals' characters in different life situations giving models of their worst and best qualities. This movie awakens compassion, which purifies heart deeply and very important to feel often. It is sharp and distinguished from what is being created these years.About Ms Joli. Very accurate playing, owing to synthesis of life experience and personal qualities. Very healthy energy. Balanced combination of clean heart, persuasive speech, and sincere acting. It exceeds nowadays commercial acting level. No matter else to say, words fall behind the feelings radiating by main character. Outstanding playing. Good movie.
