It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

The fact is, this film is about nothing; it's as simple as that. In and of itself that's not the problem. Plenty of films are completely surreal or don't have a pointed subject and are AMAZING. Basically, for most of the first half, the film plays out as a typical linear crime drama based mainly around two criminal accomplices. The end result is we're left with an open ending because we're not really given much of the backstory, and virtually no backdoor scenes that would give us real insight into the nature and motives of the group who hire the criminal duo to commit a series of murders for them. The issue I have with films like this is, despite being about nothing, they're based around a STORY that is about something. In other words, every linear film is based within a certain time frame, be it a few days or a few years. What a typical linear film does is it selects moments that are relevant to the story within that specific time frame, and compiles them into an hour+ product designed specifically to convey the story to the viewer. Films like this purposely try to do that EXTREMELY badly.Essentially, within the time frame of the story that this film is based around, there IS a clear and definite answer to the many unanswered questions that the viewer is left with by the end of the film... but we're not shown it. Why? Because it's GENIUS not to show it... Right? "Wow... This film is so deep and atmospheric." No... It just left out two or three key scenes that made you think too hard about things that can ONLY be interpreted to have meaning in a way that's entirely subjective, and the amount of effort you spent thinking about those things made them appear larger than they actually are, so as to give the illusion of high-brow sophistication, when really the film explores nothing all that thought-provoking.Is it possible to create a "good" film based almost entirely around atmosphere and intrigue alone? The answer to that question I will concede is entirely subjective, hence the generous rating I've given it. To me however, films like this NEVER don't feel like a practical joke played upon the viewer by a director who has no interest whatsoever in conveying a story: "Haha! Gotcha! You thought this movie was going to go somewhere but it wasn't! It's about ABSOLUTELY nothing and I just made you waste 90 minutes of your life!" And for that reason, one thing I won't concede, is that films like this can EVER be considered "great."

Forgive me, but English is my second language and I am afraid my vocabulary lacks the necessary swear and curse words to describe such a movie accurately. I remember a riddle when I was a kid.. What animal has four legs, very fast and people ride it and race with it. Starts with an H and It also has 2 wings.OF course there is no answer... But its a very good puzzle. It is easy to make up crap for a story when you do not have to worry about the ending. How will you end it Mr. director? I will just cut to black and will not explain anything.Eh that is so irresponsible for a movie maker. I watch a movie with respect and I invest myself in it. Ending it with a lazy ending like that. And whats with the editing? Some scenes are way too short and some are too long. Some scenes are connected together with nothing. Its like surfing channels.I saw this movie because some critic gave it a good review... I should've known that pretentious f*** would like crap that doesn't make sense because he can pretend he understand it when in actuality no one understands it because its a bad bad movie.Save your time. I gave 2 stars just for the acting. Otherwise a big round zero.

I really loved Ben Wheatley Sightseers, it rates as one of the best black comedies of all time. And I love the fact that so many people don't get the fact it's a black comedy. But Killl List is not a Black Comedy and I wish it was because sadly it doesn't work on any level. It starts off with two Tarrentino style hit men killing bad people on a list for money. This is done with extreme violence and with such ease it makes you wonder if the police force even exists. We then come to the final act which sees our two heroes stumble across some sort of Wickerman cult ceremony in the grounds of an MPs estate? Without giving to much away what follows is extremely violent bloody and very unpleasant and if I'm honest made no sense whatsoever. A real shame because what had lead to this point had been quite enjoyable. Maybe one day someone out there can explain to me what the film was about. My advice watch Sightseers.

I cannot undo what I have seen. Scrape it from my memory and return my soul from where it has been taken. This was a suspenseful start with an intrigue lingering to figure out what the hell is going on. The interest and enjoyment of this movie was ended in a plot unnecessary and cruel.Purposeless. I will never return to my eyes and ears to anything made by the director, writers or actors. May all those actors that weren't animals or children rot in hell.I want to hug my children and tell them there are terrible people in this world that will ruin your fun for their own sick purposes.I would watch re-runs of happy days over and over again, post shark jumping episode, for eternity, before ever recommending anyone to view this abhorrent film.
