I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

A man decides he has had enough of his humdrum existence so goes home to kill himself. As a parting shot he decides to fulfil a rather sad bucket list - confront the school bully etc. This film is a massive mess. It opens with a very bland monologue that has you edging towards the remote. Then, as the lead goes about his plans all the surrounding characters unload their personal baggage on to him.He gets the full load too, resentment, bitterness, jealousy, homophobia, body image, infidelity, regret etc. etc. etcCarving up this convey belt of pain are a number of misplaced knob and vagina gags. The strange thing is, I kind of enjoyed this movie. It is over the top, badly put together but somehow fun. The hipster in me was screaming in outrage as I laughed along to some really childish set pieces. The cast is all great, production great. Shouldn't work, but does - for me anyway.

Very funny, feel-good movie. It will make you laugh it will make you cry and most importantly it will make you think about life :) I connected to almost every character they have there especially the lead role. The actors are convincing and great which helps the movie to deliver it's humor. Some people say some jokes are really offensive like "retard" etc. but I think It's just okay because it helps the character(the lead man's bully brother) to be himself and makes him more believable. It also made me cry which I didn't expect honestly especially the ending part where he meets his dad :( Lastly, I want to applaud the writer, and maybe the director to, for creating a story that can connect to almost every other person in the world.

This was a nice little surprise of a movie. It was at times hilarious, serious and heartfelt, sad and surprising. The acting was superb by everyone. I was never a fan of Mr. Scott. All I pictured him in was 'Dude, Where's My Car?", but this performance has turned me around. He was very likable in it, and not hard to look at. I liked how things unfolded in the story of his confronting his past experiences and making new realizations, and also the side stories of his nephew and brother. This has some crude humor, which I am not into at all, but after cringing, I was also laughing. I even watched it with my 72 year old mother, who is definitely more of a clean-humor fan, and she loved it. Ms. Cox might have a nice little future in directing going by this example, especially seeing how it is her first.

Contemplating suicide is no joke as this picture proves.Disillusioned with life, a young man returns home to kill himself, but first to tell off the people who made his life miserable. There is the unsympathetic 7th grade math teacher, who despite his father's death that year, made life miserable for him. Now, years later, she is in a nursing home and he discovers why she was so miserable to him, as well as meeting her granddaughter. Then there was the class bully who has become an endearing person, a widower with a down-syndrome child. His immediate family best describes dysfunctional. His widowed mother living with a female Elvis impersonator, a fling with the one girl in school who showed him kindness, a police officer brother with a dirty mouth whose son is a homosexual with relations with a young black man. It just goes on and on.This is a film that best suggests that life is worth living at all costs. The only way to confront his situation is to deal with it when another family member contemplates doing away with himself as well.
