Redundant and unnecessary.

Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

I just saw this the other day and felt compelled to write a review! This movie is most certainly not one to watch if you haven't already seen Anchorman:The legend of Ron Burgundy, but if you have, and you loved it (I do!) then this is a truly welcome addition. The story comprises of a sub plot intended for Anchorman that was dropped (presumeably because it wasn't that good) involving a terrorist organisation called "The Alarm Clock" hence the Wake up Ron Burgundy! title. The Alarm Clock are easily the worst terrorist group in the world having no political agenda, and not really knowing what they are doing, end up kidnapping Veronica Corningstone to use her to broadcast their as yet undecided political statement. So it's up to the rest of the intrepid news team to save her. There are some truly hilarious bits in this film, one where Champ Kind is professing his undying love for Ron in the car but everyone pretends they can't hear him is very funny, and another where we learn that the seemingly stupid Brick Tamlind was in fact the leader of a group of soldiers in the Vietnam war with the other news team members is very funny. All in all, it's one for the fan boys, not for the people who didn't like Anchorman, and it's only a bit of a laugh anyway, it was never a theatrical release.9/10

I will be truthful. It was not as good as the original anchorman, but it was still good, in it's own way. The continuing story of Ron Burgundy and his girlfriend Veronica. This time, Ron goes too far....again. Veronica sends Ron on a mission to a fake newscast. The fun discontinued though, after Veronica finds out that Ron could be dead. She begins to worry, and goes out by herself, looking for him. All of the news anchors end up kidnapped. And afterwards, when they are freed, Ron and Veronica fall in love again. This movie deserves the same recognition that its predecessor, "Anchorman" had. It may not have been the same caliber as the original, but is just as fun when it comes down to the story. I laughed, I cried, I loved it. 10 out of 10.

Wake Up, Ron Burgundy had a lot better and realistic storyline than the original film. However, in a film such as this, a good storyline really doesn't make much of a difference. It was the crazy and comical situations that made the first film such an uproarious experience and this 'second' film just didn't have it. Yeah, there were some funny situations, but for the most part, I was bored watching it. It was very easy to tell that this film was not previewed in front of a test audience as there were some scenes that just dragged on a bit too long and went from the funny stage to the uncomfortable stage, such as the scene where Champ just goes on and on and on and on in the car about how he is really in love with Ron. Funny at first, but after a while, I was beginning to feel uncomfortable with it. In my opinion, they should have just sorted through it, found the funniest material (as there was some stuff that was WAY funny) and just compiled it into a longer edit of the original film. I own the DVD and I know I'll probably never watch it again. There are some scenes I'd really like to see, but I know that if I want to watch them, I'll just skip through the movie to find them and not watch the movie in whole. The best part of the DVD was the even MORE deleted scenes that were never used in either film and the multiple takes of the same scene, especially the ones that included Brick.

First off, this is a very funny sequel. Even though it isn't technically a sequel, actually it is some cut footage from the original version of "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy". I have to admit, this is somewhat superior in parts to the original. There are even some parts of the film that make me wonder why they were cut out in the first place. There are some stand out scenes that are absolutely hysterical (Champ, admitting his secret love for Ron, The Cannibalism scene with 7-Eleven & Burger King seen in the background). This is truly a work of Monty Python-esquire satire. This plot of alarm-clock bandits is MUCH, MUCH better then the panda plot in the original. It's a wonder why the director and studio felt the need to change the plot from this to the panda sub-plot. I HIGHLY, recommend "Wake Up, Ron Burgundy"!
