Good concept, poorly executed.

it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

This movie had very good dry humor but despite the fact that It made me chuckle a few times; I felt that there was a lack of comedy throughout the entire film. There were times when I questioned the plot and who the main characters actually were. The overall theme seemed like a re-run of every bad drama you've ever seen with the smallest issues made to seem like a big plot line. It felt like the flick tried to be its own version of 500 days of summer, only difference was the fact that it was all in chronological order. I sat and watched it waiting for the mood to shift or pick up just a tad bit but everything was very bland and predictable. I had a tough time believing that this movie had even managed to snag as much of an audience as it has. I usually enjoy these sorts of films but there just wasn't enough of a plot or humor for me to really think anything of this movie, except that it was a waste of my time. I honestly wish I could pick out scenes that I genuinely enjoyed and save them for a different film because it's a shame to see them wasted in this. When I was checking out the trailer it seemed entertaining and fresh but it seems like most of the funny moments, (and the entire beginning,) of the movie were packed in there, not to mention the fact that at times it felt like the movie was moving just as fast as the trailer, It really seemed a bit rushed. It feels harsh but I truly didn't find a strand of interest in this film despite loving the characters and certain parts. I wouldn't recommend the movie, it was a letdown and I was left disappointed.

Is it just me or did this movie seem like it went on forever? I was shocked when I saw the run time was under two hours... This movie...Was not very funny. The only time I really laughed was when Bernie was explaining to Debbie that his girlfriend was a bad cook. That's probably it.Pacing is dreadfully slow...The movie moves at a glacial pace and will have you glancing over at the clock. Don't be fooled by the run time, this movie is slow as molasses. The cast was charming and had chemistry, but it seemed like they had more fun making the movie than we did watching it. The comedy bits in the movie were corny and the romantic bits in this movie were also corny and poorly written. It ended up being more dramatic than one would think a movie with Kevin Hart would be. It's a pretty forgettable movie. There was nothing in it that made me want to watch it again or recommend it to anyone else.Falling in line with a lot of "dramedy" type movies that Hollywood seems to be enamored with, this title is just a waste of time. Hollywood only seems to be reliable for action anymore...Even that is slipping with the over use of CGI. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.

"Why do we have to do what everyone else does?" Bernie (Hart) and Danny (Ealy) are best friends. While at a bar one night Bernie begins to tell him about the amazing woman he met. When she shows up to meet them she brings a friend and Danny and her hit it off. The relationship quickly grows but the two find it harder then they expected. First of all I have to say the the movie is funny and I did like it but it was also pretty much what I expected. The comedy is there even though Kevin Hart can get a little annoying sometimes. The story is good and keeps you interested even though 10 minutes in you can pretty much guess how the rest of the movie is gonna go. I have never seen the original so I can't compare the two but after seeing this I would like to watch the 80's one. This is really a movie that there isn't much to say about because it's pretty fluffy and generic. This is a pretty good date night movie and I'm glad I watched it but it's really only a one time watch. Overall, worth seeing once but it's nothing more then a cookie cutter love story with an ending you can see coming a mile away. I give this a B.

About Last NightThe best part of a one-night stand is you don't have to leave money on the dresser. But if you stick around like the guys in this rom-com, you end up paying.Bernie (Kevin Hart) tells Danny (Michael Ealy) his experience with a girl he met at the club last night.Joan (Regina Hall) dishes to Debbie (Joy Bryant) about her experience with this guy she met at the club last night. When all four meet up for drinks, Debbie and Danny hit it off and sleep together. That one-night stand turns into co-habitation. But when the constraints of relationship begin to tighten around Danny, he flinches. An updated version of the 1986 original, this remake is remarkably funny. Furthermore, in it's own distorted way it's an honest portrayal of dating.Plus, when you meet someone at a club, you know instantly that you both like paying for overpriced drinks. Yellow Light
