The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

Almost every criticism that can be thrown at this mini series has already been made, so I will start with mine: * the stereotyped young, beautiful, brilliant, kick-ass woman who will not fall into line and insists on playing by her rules which run counter to all others. She is right and everyone else is wrong. She wears a tightly fitting shirt throughout the film and never changes it, so presumably everything happens in one day.* The squabbling families - father and son, father and daughter, husband and wife. All disaster movies have them so they can either be killed off or reconciled.* The rupture following the train down the tracks. That's the part where I suspended all belief and just sat back for the ride.* We are told that the fault is so deep underground that no instruments have been invented which could measure it. Later they have to set their nuclear war heads at 350 feet or thereabouts to fuse the fault. Gimme a break! I thought coal mines went lower than that. 3,500 feet would have sounded more likely. 3.5 miles even better. The good points: * I liked the split screen and the special effects.* It was fun for a few hours and made a change from talk shows, cooking shows and home the shopping channels. On a cold wet winter's night when you have nothing better to do, stoke up the fire, grab a few friends and sit back for the ride.

Take one really bad idea, add a group of actors that should know better, a pinch of insipid drama, mix a bit of "God Bless America" and wrap it all up with shockingly bad camera work and there you have it - the worst tele-movie ever to shake our screens. And another thing - why do all these bad disaster films have the same plot? I mean, a group of so called professionals who are grouped together for their intellect and education working for the authority on whatever disaster they face, have to battle each other and an arrogant know-it-all boss who refuses to acknowledge the opinion of his team? Until it's too late of course. Then that same boss becomes the hero by "taking one for the team" - give us a break! Factor in a sub-plot of a dysfunctional family with a precocious kid who hates their parents and there you have every other so called suspense film made in the last 20 plus years. If you really want to add pain to the viewing experience, wait for it to come out on free to air TV - then you'll know what the 10.5 means - 10 minutes of movie and 5 minutes of commercials, 10 minutes of movie.......

This movie was terrific on many levels! To see so many actors take the opportunity to fall on their swords in career moves worthy of Armed and Famous.President Beau does a remarkable impression of a piece of wood. I especially liked him bounding off the basketball court when he found out the space needle in Seattle fell down. It made me wonder if President George ever bounded anywhere. One of the unsung heroes of the movie, not even listed in the credits were the blue folders. Entertain yourself, try counting the number of times they appear in the movie They appeared in nearly every scene, apparently contained vital information, reports, plans and only hold a couple sheets of paper. All the President needed to do was ask for information, and low and behold, the folder appeared. Who had time to generate these reports? Kim Delany was more fun when she was drinking heavily on NYPD Blue. The train being chased by the crevasse was particularly cartoon-like.And then there's the guy from Dukes of Hazard.President Beau says it best "This is a nightmare." Watch the movie if you're a masochist, or a collector of really really bad movies.... if so, then also check out Sandra Bullock's "Hangman." You'll be sorry.

Yesterday, this movie was in the German TV. I must say I could not say if the movie was bad or good, because I got a bad headache just watching for a few min.! What is it today with these movies? Are the cameramen on LSD or is this because they think a movie is more "dynamic" when Zoom, in Zoom out, Zoom in...etc.? Maybe I will try this movie again when in better condition, but I get the impression that they should show a epilepsy warning in the title. The story itself was not bad, and Fred Ward is a good actor. The bad thing is, I thought it could have been a nice movie, if it weren't for the camera work. A few scenes are a bit over dramatic (the car), I don't think this could happen so quick.
