A waste of 90 minutes of my life

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

A liberal's concept of a good romance drama take on the complex ways of life, love, passion and marriage.no it is actually a liberal's dysfunctional marriage

The one good thing about this movie is that is was consistent from start to finish. The problem, of course, is that it was consistently flat the whole way through. It's just a few characters doing stuff without any conversations or other clues as to why they are behaving like they are. I could have easily turned it off at any point and not cared about how it ended. As it was, I fast forwarded through 20 to 30 minutes in the middle to get to the end. Not sure what the director was going for here. Not funny, not dramatic; just blah.

the story was good.although it was cliché but it was good. but it didn't been directed to be shown as real. why did Robert follow the couples to market and threatened Michael?first it was surprise to see Robert behave like fist time young lovers and second it seems the director was hopeless and desperate and wanted to go straight to the end. and why did took Debra Winger(Mary)that long time to get back to home and why their son (who was so worried about his mom and wanted to beat the s@#5it out of his father) did nothing to reach his mother and waited in the house and didn't conflict with his father who were sitting on the couch; it didn't make any sense. and the singing in the middle of disaster and family crisis, who dose that? it was my time to go bed but after seeing this ending i felt sorry for my self watching this movie. and i was very disappointed how the movie ended. and i don't mean that i love happy endings but after 3/4 of the film, it went wrong way.its like the director had cheated me as audience.(sorry for my poor English).

Mary (Debra Winger) and Michael (Tracy Letts) are in a troubled marriage. They are trying to keep up appearance before the visit of their son and his girlfriend. Mary is having an affair with Robert (Aidan Gillen) and Michael with Lucy (Melora Walters). There may still be something in their marriage. It's great to have Debra Winger back as a big screen lead. She still has flashes of the old fire. The love lives are muddled which makes them less compelling for me. I couldn't hold on to their marriage or wonder if I can root for its dissolution. The affair partners don't have enough screen time. I also wonder if concentrating on one lead would heighten the emotional impact. While it's nice to have the visit, the effects are not long lasting.
