There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

After escorting two new female prisoners to a secret detention facility "Cross" (Steven Seagal) and his men are essentially put in a holding pattern pending transportation to further escort the remaining prisoners to another location. However, one of the female prisoners named "Samantha Mendez" (Steph Song) is actually a CIA courier who happens to have secret information regarding a bank account worth millions of dollars and there are those who are willing to do whatever is necessary to obtain the device she is carrying. Along with that, the other female prisoner by the name of "Charlotte Walker" (Aliyah O'Brien) is also not who she appears to be and this creates yet another problem for Cross. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a standard action film which benefited from its isolated location but was hindered by the lack of lighting which the director (Keoni Waxman) apparently felt was necessary for the overall effect. Additionally, although Steph Song was definitely attractive, none of the actors really put in a stellar performance and this didn't particularly help the movie either. Be that as it may, although it certainly had room for improvement, it wasn't necessarily a bad film overall and I have rated it accordingly. Average.

Steven Seagal, the hard-hitting martial artist who swears no mercy to any of his enemies nor does he take a beating, for once actually stars in an action movie that actually turns out to be good for once. With the teaming up with Wrestler 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, the action and the shootout moments are definitely worth while. It's a groundbreaking worth while and Seagal hasn't been in a better action movie since the Under Siege movies, most of his movies can be ridiculously clichéd and rather annoying due to his successive cheesy one- liners, tough guy impressions and never taking a beating - which makes him a thoroughly non-challenging action star to approve of. In Maximum Conviction, Seagal is Agent across and Steve Austin is Manning. Two ex-special forces operatives who are given a chance to prove their talents once again when a secret military prison facility, run by themselves, gets overrun and compromised by ruthless mercenaries, who are trying to break out two captives for certain demands. For Cross and Manning it's a non-stop quest for justice and taking back the prison's security. Packed with amazing non-stop action moments and thrills, Maximum Conviction is definitely worth the watch if you're an action movie fan!

Steven Seagal & Steve Austin - Together = Bad-Ass Entertainment! 'Maximum Conviction' is hard-core, fast-paced entertainment! The Plot is simple: The Bad-Guys mess up, our Heroes come to clean up.The Screenplay is fast-paced. Direction Wise, fair. The Action-Sequences are fantastic. Cinematography, Editing & Art Design, are proper. Seagal & Austin are in top-form. Seagal is the eternal Bad-Ass & Austin is just getting there. I truly enjoyed watching them both kicking-butt & delivering with such energy. On the whole, 'Maximum Conviction' worked for me. I Enjoyed!

Is it the Seagal I grew up with? No....not even close. Is it better than most of the derivative tripe we have come to know as Seagals annual DTV releases....yes. On par with 2004 Into the Sun there is enough here to feel closer to The Glimmer Man we hope to catch a glimpse of with each DTV release. For what it is and what it is trying to be this was the most fun I have had with a Seagal film in 8 years. Not sure what that means but if you have any hope left for Seagal this film will restore a little faith the big man with the fast hands ain't done quite yet. Decent flick. As for Steve Austin, I have never been much of a fan and this movie was not good because of him I can assure you. When Austin makes Seagal look like Kevin Spacey you know there is an issue.
