One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

This is possibly now my favorite Kevin Spacey movie.Just watched it then for the first time and it's both funny interesting and most definitely watchable! It's got an oceans 11 feel about it , some awesome irish humor and that good ol Cop V Robber begrudging respect. One of those movies you kind of wish there was another hour of, because it was that good it felt like the whole thing lasted 10 mins hahaha. I'm giving it 8 out of 10, Purely on overall feel and how good it was put together. Kevin Spacey's character is peeerrrrfect for his style . That smug House of cards sort've personality style but the other end of the scale , totally likable

Linda Fiorentino. Ohmygawd what a beautiful lady! Be still my heart!!! Oh, boy, here we go again with this ridiculous requirement of 10 lines! I said what I wanted to say in less than 15 words. Why, oh why, does IMDb require that people be unnecessarily wordy when what one desires to say can be done in only a few words. I can understand a maximum limit but the minimum limit of 10 lines is just silly. Anyway, I could watch Linda Fiorentino forever. She is simply gorgeous. Sheesh! I still don't have enough lines. How many ways can I say that Linda Fiorentino is hot?! Nope, still not enough. This is a fairly entertaining movie but I will say that Linda Fiorentino is the best part of the movie.

After the general, a film that romanticized the life of Dublin gangster the general to such heroic proportions that it made the average Dublin person sick, along come Kevin and his attempted portrayal of Mr. Lynch or martin Cahill, aka the general, the acting is so bad that this crime drama becomes a comedy for the native Dub, and a tragedy for the Kevin Spacey fan. in short, is the movie worth a look.... No, unless u like bad acting with hilarious 'proper Irish accents, ah sure to be sure to be sure'. The story is ripped off from the commercially successful 'The General' which, despite is glorification of a well known Dublin animal in Martin Cahill is still worth a look, on a domestic scale because it shows real working class Dublin, and on an international scale because of he true Irish acting and killer cast, including John Voight. All in all, 'Ordinary Decent Criminal' is anything but a decent film. Avoid.

Another poor effort by a top American actor to recreate an authentic Irish accent. The overall effect was cringe-worthy for any Irish audiences. I turned this movie off, couldn't watch it all. It's loosely based on the story which is much better relayed in 'The General'. So if you want to know the story of one of the most notorious criminals in recent Irish history, look out for that version with Brendan Gleeson. (incidentally, John Voight does a excellent regional accent in that film, so it can be done!). Not worth your money, if you like authenticity in any form. It also tries to squeeze laughs form something which was actually quite grim. It's about as historically realistic as Disney's Pocohontas....
