Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

'Ultimate Avengers II (2006)' doesn't stick as close to its source-material as its predecessor, instead introducing Black Panther and having much of the action take place in and around Wakanda. Its changes aren't necessarily detrimental, however, and it feels like a unique sequel to the first film. It still keeps the spirit of the comic-book intact, providing the great characterisations you'd expect from an adaptation of it. It makes a couple of risky decisions, only one of which is seemingly slightly - and only slightly - neutered to fit its 'kid-friendly' status. The flick ends up being just as enjoyable as the first, even if it is slightly sillier and isn't quite as well-rounded overall. The pacing is much better this time, though, and there's never a dull moment. The plentiful - and sometimes surprisingly brutal - action is often compounded by tangible stakes, which makes for an experience you constantly care about. It really is remarkable how character-focused the flick is, even during its brasher bits. The set-pieces can seem a little segmented at times, however. The animation is bloom-heavy and sometimes stiff, but it is more than serviceable and allows for the quieter moments to work as well as the loud ones. In the end, the movie is a breeze to watch and a blast while you do. 7/10

Picking up where the first Ultimate Avengers left off, UA2 finds the Avengers not getting along very well as they encounter the Black Panther and continue to deal with the alien invaders of the first feature. Thor is mostly absent from the film as he's off on some personal quest of his own that keeps him separated from the other heroes until the climax, while Bruce Banner/Hulk spends most of the feature incarcerated for the destruction he caused before.IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE FILM, DO NOT READ FURTHER, THERE BE SPOILERS HERE:I'm going to go out on a limb here by going against the grain of the previous reviews, because honestly I don't think 'Ultimate Avengers 2' is particularly good. Heck, the animated direct to DVD features from Marvel & DC have been pretty hit & miss on both sides, and sadly UA2 is a miss for Marvel. The first Ultimate Avengers, while not perfect, was still a solid introduction to the characters, their dynamics and their personal issues. The sequel, however, fails to offer any truly satisfying resolutions to those problems. Captain America's struggle to adjust to the 21st century and the effect it's having on his personality & work ethic is touched upon again but it never really goes anywhere, nor does the brief contrast shown between Iron Man and Captain America ever really develop, and his hook up at the end with Black Widow feels forced despite some previous hints of a mutual infatuation between them. Similarly, the marital problems between Hank 'Giant Man' Pym and his wife Janet 'Wasp' Pym are revisited and shown to have gotten worse, as Hank is made out to be an even bigger asshole with an over-sized ego here than he was in the first film, but as with Captain America's problems, the manner in which it is concluded - with Giant Man dying in the final act in what is apparently meant to be his redemption for being an egocentric jerk for most of the story - is not a satisfying one. If anything, Giant Man's death feels forced in the most laughable manner, partly because he really didn't even take enough abuse during the fight to warrant dying.Iron Man himself was one of the few highlights of the film, and Black Panther came across pretty good, but that doesn't redeem the film's big flaw: it feels like it was rushed out the gate as quickly as possible, and the story & characters suffer for it. It's too bad, because the potential for a better animated film was definitely there, but it just wasn't utilized. Still, the outtakes in the special features section were pretty funny.

Earth's mightiest heroes are back (already!) for another home video run following the success of the previous Avengers movie. The movie seems to pick up not-too-long after the first, with the heroes separated and doing their own thing. Bruce Banner/the Incredible Hulk is locked up for the tantrum he through in the first movie. Steve Rogers/Captain America is slowly becoming a loner, preferring to work missions alone. The Pyms, Hank and Janet, are experiencing some marital problems, and Thor has completely dropped off the radar. The heroes are reunited when the Chitauri return, led by Herr Kleiser, who was thought to have been killed by Captain America near the end of World War II. This time the Chitauri have their eyes set on the isolated African nation of Wakanda, ruled by T'Challa/the Black Panther. This is the second movie in Marvel's animated line, and they have managed to make minor improvements over the previous. Unfortunately, they haven't made any attempts to improve on the animation style at all. So, the closer you see a character, the more hiccups and stiffness you see in the animation. Of course, the action scenes still look awesome, and we get some great battles out of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Seeing as how the Hulk is restrained for the majority of the movie, we don't get the same raw power out of him that was exhibited in Avengers I.The Black Panther was an excellent addition to the movie and made for an entertaining enough story. I have been interested in the Black Panther storyline since I first started reading up on him so it was nice to see him included in the latest Avengers installment. While the first movie's story was thin, this time around we are treated to more history and slightly more character development. My only major complaint with the story in Avengers II was the Chitauri...I think it's time to move on. There are plenty of villains/angry alien races out there. The only thought to cross my mind when I saw the Chitauri in this movie was: "Again?". I'm hoping that they try something fresh next time. And, of course, its nice to see that Marvel didn't sugarcoat this movie down to a PG or G rating in an effort to appeal to the grade school crowd. They included enough action (even included a little brutality) to earn the movie a PG-13. All in all, this movie is better than the first, but not by leaps and bounds. Although, if the pattern continues, I think we can expect some real gems out of Marvel's animated line-up in the future.

I only started to review it now, well, the DVD came to Singapore and I watched it. Not bad for an animation, with cool animation to blow you off but it is the story plot that is not wonderfully good as it is straight forward with a twist in the end (a death of a superhero). It is more violent and bloodier than the first movie. As I say, the second movie will always be better than the first one. Ultimate avengers 2 starts off with the death of the black panther and the son takes over him. Now he goes to find Captain America and asks him to join forces with him to defeat the whatever monsters coming to destroy the world. Super story but short. Its' actions will blast you off with its' cool music but what can we do if the plot is just straight forward. I am not saying I hate the movie but they can extend it, not making the two movies like a mini-movie series. Oh well, I don't know whether they are making Ultimate avengers 3 but if they do, it better be the best of all the Ultimate avengers movies.Well, the special features are nothing much but it does have some cool sneak previews. If you want to watch it, you will have no choice but to buy the DVD.
