It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

I happened to stumble across this film one day on Netflix (I think.... maybe it was HBOGO) while I was home terribly sick one day. Normally I really don't have any interest in films of this sort... "Chick Flicks" or whatever you might want to call it... I am more of a documentary type of person and when I do watch "movies" that aren't documentaries, they are usually either crime type movies that are based on a true story or psychological thrillers or something more in that vein. Now, when my 17 year old daughter was very little, she LOVED Hilary Duff and I thought that Hilary had a very nice singing voice and was MUCH more of a positive role model than many of the other "tween pop" artists out there and I had also seen her on the Lizzy Maguire series and thought she was just adorable. So, while this movie is not some sort of "cinematic tour de force" it is definitely fun, lighthearted, and something very easy to watch when you are not feeling well. I quite enjoyed it and have watched it several times since. Definitely recommend to young women and also found it to be appropriate to show to "preteen" girls who I think might enjoy it for a sleepover or something.... in the same kind of category as "13 Going on 30" which is another of my "guilty pleasures"!

SPOILER ALERT: This film runs its so-called "outtakes" and "bloopers" at the end of the film, during the credits. This is an 'age old' technique of filmmakers and movie studios to take one final shot at persuading the viewers of a downright awful, unfunny "comedy" (as they are about to leave the theater) that they are happy about having just wasted the last 90 to 120 minutes of their lives and can never get that, or their money back! The outtakes and bloopers also somewhat effectively distract the viewer from paying any attention to the names rolling on the screen, which gives those who were involved in the disaster just viewed an opportunity to hopefully escape being associated with the train wreck. ------------------------- Now, on to the review: Save your money, stay home and scrub the toilets. It's a much better use of your time. You're welcome.

Well, its one of those films you watch and at the end you don't feel satisfied! But not too bad for a chick flick.Hilary & Hayley delivered on the acting side yet the storyline ended too fast. there was no proper ending which left me wanting more! I wanted to see more of the relationships towards the end. The thing we all love about girly movies is the 'happily ever after' feeling at the end. This film missed this :( definitely not the best film (Hilary's worst to be honest) but a lot better than some other films out there! Before watching a movie, i have expectations especially if i like the cast. Don't go into this movie with high expectation and you will enjoy it.xSx87x

I personally liked this film because it describes the feelings of girls who aren't very "normal". Teenagers nowadays think more in trends than in other things. This girls find themselves with nothing. The film basically shows what problems they have facing real life conditions which are everyday life for people who every day go out to work. I also think the actresses play well their parts as i presume it's difficult to exaggerate the life of two teenagers who live like queens in their perfect world. In the end I think the film shows that you need a bit of effort to go through life and you can't expect people to do things for you. This film shows kids that you have to believe in what you want to make your dreams come true. The filming was also good because it shows the contrast of the rich part of a city and the streets where people with less economical resources live. I would recommend this film to people who like comedy, romance and a good story to watch.
