I would have given this movie a 1 except for Diane Lane. She tried...the movie is just dumb. The character of Nix is obnoxious...Rourke should have shot him the day he met him.

Killshot is about a couple (Thomas Jane and Diane Lane) who are in the process of getting divorced. However, they witness an attempted armed robbery by partners in crime (Mickey Rourke and Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and subsequently hunted down by the pair in order to 'silence' them - permanently. What follows in an hour and a half of cat and mouse antics and the criminals use all their resources to track the couple down, in order to eliminate them. Not a bad premise, but the one thing I found was that I found myself rooting for the bad guys - not because I agreed with their motives, but because they were just so much more charismatic than the 'heroes' (think how Brad Pitt's and Juliet Lewis' psychotic performances outshone David Duchovney and what's-her-name's in Kalifornia and you're in the right area).Killshot isn't anything special, or anything that you haven't seen before. However, what makes it worth watching is the performance of the villains. Some people have commented how Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn't pull off 'the hard man' act very well. Yes, he was a little manic, but, either way, I found he stole every scene from Thomas Jane and Diane Lane, but was - naturally - outdone in the psychopathic stakes by Mickey Rourke. There's definitely worst ways to spend an hour and a half.

Alhough this thriller is based on a book of a solid author (Elmore Leonard), the script is uneven and contains odd or half-finished directions, so the tensions are not up high throughout the movie. The cast is uneven as well: the leading figures Thomas Jane as Wayne Colson and Diane Lane as Carmen Colson were uninviting to me (probably due to non-captivating characters rather than mediocre acting), but the bad guys, however - Mickey Rourke as Armand "The Blackbird" Degas and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Richie Nix - performed in gifted manner (well, they have always shown wide versatility in acting). Thanks to them, the movie is OK for killing time and does not become bored or annoying (its length is 1h 25 minutes only). The very ending could have been more interesting.Recommended to those fond of action thrillers.

If I live to be a thousand I will never understand how some viewers arrive at their opinion. I truly think some people look to see what others have said about a film and if the majority are negative then they jump in with THEIR negative review. I fail to see how people see pictures like this and automatically decide it'a "a piece of crap" It is not! KILLSHOT is a very descent film. Good acting and strong performances by Micky Rourk and Diane Lane. Good suspense. Good story that I find very plausible. Elmore Leonard wrote the novel from wince the film comes. A descent picture with a fine performance by Micky Rourk, who is a dam fine actor! To all those naysayers who wrote disparaging reviews... What are you looking for? Perfection in everything that ever gets made? All of you must be very sad to discover there is very little perfection in anything.
