I liked that this movie was different than the original, much like Prom Night II or Halloween III. This was made in the Golden Era of cheesy slasher films. It was okay, but I loved the original a lot better. The original was so cliché and basically ripped off Halloween, which I loved. This one introduces a more supernatural tone with the girls playing with an ouija board. (I haven't seen The Slumber Party Massacre all the way through yet, but I'm pretty sure they used a clip from that movie to explain the killer's past in this one. So, are these two series connected, or did they hope no one would notice?)Five girls buy the old Hokstatter place where some brutal murders took place 5 years before. (No relation to the original film) They talk awhile, act girly, eat cheap food and search around the house. Soon, they find an old ouija board and begin playing with it. Little do they know, they awaken the spirit of the killer. The script is pretty weak, it's filled with nude women and cheesy death scenes (In fact, you can see the shadow of a crew man spraying blood on the wall during a death scene.) It was okay, but I still much prefer the original. If you love campy B-movies, you might enjoy SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE 2!!!

Extremely prolific Jim Wynorski strikes again with this typically amusing slasher trash that, like so much of his other output, works because he establishes a firmly tongue in cheek tone. He does manage to work in all of the tropes of this sub genre while winking at them at the same time. That makes it pretty hard to resist. With a formulaic, predictable script, a tantalizing female cast who do show us their goods, and some decent atmosphere, he makes "Sorority House Massacre II" into an engaging bit of nonsense.Working in footage from "The Slumber Party Massacre", he spins a yarn about five sorority babes who move into an old house that (wouldn't you know it) was the site of a mass murder perpetrated by vile Clive Hochstatter long ago. The girls play with fire when they find a Ouija board and attempt to call upon Clives' spirit. Later that night, the nasty things start happening, while suspicion falls on the head of the intimidating (and eternally tired looking) next door neighbour, Orville Ketchum (Peter Spellos), a character also seen in Wynorskis' "Hard to Die".You get what you expect in this thing. There's some graphic gore (devised by Dean Jones and William Starr Jones), appropriate lighting (by J.E. Bash and co-star Jurgen Baum, who plays the intrepid Lt. Block), and a fairly fast pace. The acting is standard for this sort of thing, with the lovely Gail Harris doing well as one of the gals. The movie co-stars Playboy Playmate Melissa Moore, Toni Naples (one of the villains from Wynorskis' "Deathstalker II") as Blocks' partner, and Bridget Carney as foxy stripper Candy, but the show is stolen by the deadpan Spellos, who's as indestructible as any horror movie psycho. Those who like their slashers on the sleazy side should have a pretty good time with this one. It has sufficient enough nudity to keep ones' attention.Seven out of 10.

Well Wynorski understood what any good slasher must have in order to be a smashing suc(k)cess:bimbos, boobs, blood, and board..the Ouji Board, than is.Five sorority sisters spend the night in a recently purchased house, a cob-webbed, old dump in need of renovation, notorious for being the very place a series of murders were committed by a nutcase who lived there. When the girls make the mistake of summoning his evil spirit from beyond the grave, they're in for a hellish night of certain peril as a killer, using a hook, executes them one by one. Could Orville Ketchum, a rotund, creepy neighbor who knew the serial killer, be the one slicing the well-endowed sisters? You'll recognize right away that the female cast weren't hired for their acting abilities, and director Wynorski includes lots of shirts being removed allowing their puppies to breathe and one long shower scene where his camera pans down Stacia Zhivago's naked body as she bathes her flesh. Robyn Harris is the final girl discovering the bodies of her murdered sisterhood while Melissa Moore(..a Playboy Playmate, at the time)is the dense big-titted honey who follows her lead along with Zhivago. Jürgen Baum and Toni Naples are detectives suspecting that the murders at the old house where the killer once lived aren't over. Barbii(Michelle Verran)and Dana Bentley are the other girls who wind up dead, victims of the hook-killer. Wynorski shoots the killings off screen, the shadow of the killer, lifting up his hook, bringing it down on the victim with blood splattering on the walls. Peter Spellos, portraying Orville, the man that just won't die despite being stabbed numerously, strangled by a chain, drowned in toilet water, and shot multiple times with a shotgun, is quite memorable as the red herring of the film. Wynorski shamelessly includes footage from SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE, injecting it into the plot representing the murders spoken about by the girls and Orville. Wynorski goes out of his way to titillate his male audience..for most of the film, the girls are in their underwear.

In-name only sequel that was filmed under a different title. Not too bad. Not alotta blood, plenty of nudity. Good setting and has an '80's slasher feel to it. I just get so annoyed with the Slumber Party Massacre footage. Hard To Die did that and so did the later-day Cheerleader Massacre. The possessed girl at the end was a little bit disappointing. The humorous touches did not help either. Orville was fun though, but was better in Hard To Die. I would rather watch this than I Know What You Did Last Summer or anything else in that big-studio vein. Campy exploitation trash all the way.Two and a half stars.
