This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

Very little in Bonneville differs from numerous other road-trip movies. I watched it mainly for Joan Allen, and she did not disappoint. The three road-trip ladies were all worth watching, and it was good to see a story where most of the people get along and enjoy it with good humor. There's lots of fantastic Western scenery along the way. The bitter daughter was a major stereotype. All in all, glad I watched it but no desire to see it again.

Just watching this film, What a joy to watch a film with a story that contains no violence or bad language . Its a film to watch again and again . The three actresses just added to the great story with a few great laughs thrown in . The scenes in the film are absolutely fantastic. It makes you want to go out and buy the first American convertible and head for Utah . Although you would expect the audience to be mainly females for this film, I as a male found the film very entertaining. I'm glad I turned to the particular channel that was showing the movie because its a great script and the characters are a great laugh.

It seems like quite some time since a refreshing film like Bonneville has hit the big screen. The film was one in which longtime friendships and healthy romantic relationships were valued. Bonneville also reminds the audience about the importance of keeping one's word (in this case a promise of a wife to her now deceased husband) to another human being. In addition to the morality evoked, Kathy Bates, Joan Allen and Tom Skerritt create wonderful, sympathetic characters. As usual, Kathy Bates does not disappoint the audience with her perfect comedic timing. The scenery is also reflective of the beautiful country in which we live - a real treat, especially for those who haven't had the opportunity to travel out West.Go see it and enjoy!
