A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

This is a nice to watch, entertaining love-movie. It's not always convincing, and not always perfect. But Bob Hoskins performance, and Jessica Albas beauty definitely made this movie worth to watch. (Even though, Jessica Alba couldn't fully convince me with a bad played accent and odd pronunciations.) The nice landscapes and pictures also added towards the enjoyment you can get out of the film. Don't expect anything extraordinary though. The story is nothing new, just the usual Hollywood love story with a love against tradition theme. It's a bit cheesy, but less cheesy than most other Hollywood-love movies. If you have been looking for that anyway, this movie is for you.

Impressive film and very well done for a film that was never released in the cinemas.I'am commenting on the film and the actors without mentioning spoilers to the plot. The film it self appears to be not very good but don't that judge you it is a very good romance film for all genders.since,I'am a man, most would assume that I would watch it for that famous scene however the film is so good that it is very watchable without that scene. The actors in the film gel well in the film with different acting abilities.Starting at random The actress Brenda Blenthyn puts in a decent performance as Cecil's mum but otherwise is nothing special.Bob Hoskins is perhaps the best performer in the film with the great acting skill and acting strength and in my mind the greatest actor the world has seen.Jessica Alba hasn't had the best acting career since most of the time she has been thought as a sex object which is wrong to assume that.In my opinion she is the second best actor in the film with a convincing performance for a person who has to put a accent in the film and OK people will buy this film for that scene in the film but otherwise for the character Jessica Alba is playing she is very good. Hugh Dancy is a name most people wouldn't of heard of and I didn't when I bought the film and when his face came up i thought "God not another Hugh grant pretender".However I was quite surprised with performance in the film and proved that he wasn't one of them. Now I have left Emily Mortimer last because in my opinion she wasn't very good in fact dreadfully terrible in terms of acting and was awful. All in all the film is worth watching for the Romantic side of it and its beautifully shot scenes.

This movie was brave and enchanting. It is about two star crossed lovers who can't be together because of heritage. It's the primitive version of Romeo and Juliet with an added twist of guilt. Jessica alba's character is so heart breaking to watch. She plays a girl who was forced to follow the rules of a world she was born into. A world that thinks she betrayed everything they stand for. Alba's character struggles with her romantic feelings for the Englishman. Sometimes she feels beneath him, and watching her struggle to find her place in a world she only half belongs is reason to watch it alone. In my opinion Titanic was the best romance movie of all time and this movie comes in a close second.

I love movies. However, It had been quite a long time I had not seen a movie that captured my imagination, and attention. This movie is a viewers dream so many twist and turns, I felt like I was a member of the cast....I was for over an hour taken to Sarawak and became mentally and emotionally involved in all the problems the main actors faced..I rooted for my causes, I shed tears when it was joy, I felt maybe I missed out on my true calling a movie critic .As a person who has lived in another culture I could understand the difficulties faced in learning a new language and culture..This movie re-confirmed by belief in love, even if fictional
